If you're a fan of Information Chase & have found yourself thinking ”OK but what if it were a metal album,” boy do I have the link for you. A few years ago, sublimely talented guitarist James Lam posted a metal version of the entire EP. I will shamelessly admit that I listen to this all the time.

Reminiscing about “Science City Zero” (2003) · My approach to this track was atypical for me: fire up nanoloop with no preconceived idea, play around, see what comes out. The results were fascinating to me because they were so different from anything I’d made in other tools.

Bootlicking flag-wavers for authoritarianism want to foster a fundamentally inhumane world. Why? Because they eagerly capitulate to largely made-up fears, and then seek to sublimate their abject cowardice into "action" in the form of bringing harm to others. It's pathetic.

Finally took all my music down from Spotify, or at least all of it that I directly control. As you've heard, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek invested ⅔ of a BILLION dollars into military technology company Helsing SE (of which he is also a chairman) with a focus on AI applications. Yeah, no thanks.

Last Friday (4th of July), I was unshakably depressed by the theme of the holiday, especially in light of the nauseating political developments immediately preceding. ~ 1:30 that afternoon, I decided "fuck this," & credit-carded myself a plane ticket to Stockholm. 3½ hours later, I was on the plane.
