Reminiscing about the time I had the opportunity to remix one of my favorite bands, late-'70s synthpunk pioneers the Units. Here's my remix of their seminal track “Warm Moving Bodies.”

Happy 7th birthday to my youngest and most mean-spirited son, 2018’s Closed System Blues. You’re a terror but I’m proud of you anyway. 🖤

To the kind folks who recently* ordered merch from my Bandcamp page ( *except not really that recently anymore), I really apologize for the wait. Got sidelined by some moving-target health issues (thankfully not serious and now nearly resolved). Am back in action & intend to get these out this week.

I happened to see the article, I'm just glad he seemed to like it! Played hacky sack with him once in Bologna Italy. I don't do that for just anyone. All hail DJ Scotch Egg. 🤘

So I joined a band recently. Not chiptune-related, FYI. Synthesizer punk act called Damage. Originally existed from the early ’80s into the ’90s. They’ve reformed, enlisted me, & we’ve got an LP release show 9/18 in Brooklyn @ Main Drag Music. Here’s “It Just Won’t Pass” from a recent Orlando gig.

Ignore, I'm venting and saying nothing new. Needed a void to shout into.

Bootlicking flag-wavers for authoritarianism want to foster a fundamentally inhumane world. Why? Because they eagerly capitulate to largely made-up fears, and then seek to sublimate their abject cowardice into "action" in the form of bringing harm to others. It's pathetic.

Will my pulling my stuff hurt his bottom line? Obviously not even remotely. I already hated his incredibly artist-hostile wealth-extracting business philosophies; him now taking that wealth and dumping it into weapons development takes it into a whole other sphere. I'm not going to participate.

Finally took all my music down from Spotify, or at least all of it that I directly control. As you've heard, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek invested ⅔ of a BILLION dollars into military technology company Helsing SE (of which he is also a chairman) with a focus on AI applications. Yeah, no thanks.

Likewise, great to see you too! Hope we can cross paths again sometime soon.

Thank you Johan Kotlinksi, and all of the amazing people I've been privileged to come to know in this vibrant, weird, wonderful subculture. Happy Little Sound B-Day!!

Was this spontaneous protest-trip financially irresponsible? Yes. Was it the correct course of action? Also yes.
Li'l ol' me, smiling a lot more in Stockholm than I ever do back home in New York.

My overnight flight got me to Stockholm early on the 5th. Checked in to my quirky hotel, napped hard, went to the show. What followed was an amazing night of amazing performances, + 3 more days getting to hang out and catch up with dear friends, some of whom I haven't seen in 15 years or more.
