In the 1250s, records from Ely note an old eel-rent, since commuted to a monetary rent, that local fisheries owed to the bishop. The original rent was for 3,300 sticks of eels.

A stick was a unit of 25. So that works out to 82,500 eels!

Or...you know...enough for a party.

For her part, the queen looks calm. She knows what she's doing. She takes a deep, expansive breath and -- while his attention is distracted -- slips some hemlock into his wine. He fucked around once too often. Now he's about to find out. Boys will be boys will be dead.
