Bees
Bees were once described as 'Coorus craiturs’ and have played their role in the history and folklore of Shropshire. You can read more about this lore by following the link below. 🐝 🐝 🐝

All hail the Queen of Owls.
In county folklore, the Queen of Owls reigns from dusk to dawn. In each of her feathers, a map of wisdom. On each of her talons, three drops of blood to cure or curse. Her carved avatars are everywhere. Each one providing her with intelligence. From pew to pub, she peers upon us all. – Dr. M.Benn

Starlings preening after bathing in the flooded fields & what a strong cold wind was blowing - I could barely hold the camera still.
These birds have spent the night roosting up on the S'set Levels 28 miles away - they come to feed in the pastures during the day.
Lots of Fieldfares now joining them.

A splendid idea.
It would contain medieval wall paintings in Oxgodby church & Steeple Sinderby Wanderers winning the FA Cup.
Just started reading JL Carr’s novel What Hettie Did and he starts by helpfully listing characters in it who’ve appeared in his other novels.
Some film company is missing a trick not creating a JL Carr cinematic universe.

✨Deerhurst, Gloucestershire. A kitchen in the nave and a bedroom in the chancel hid within plain sight an Anglo-Saxon chapel built by Earl Odda (a relation to Edward the Confessor). Re-discovered in 1865, it is the most complete surviving Saxon church in England.
