Yes, but it certainly sticks in the mind.
We were last here in 2019.

We are looking forward to visiting a museum that opened on the day we left. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, Jamie.
Just arrived. A great sight to greet you!
malcolmstoneman.bsky.social
Only if we can share it for half a year each!
😉

Absolutely. Can you imagine the rest of the decor that want with it? 🤔

Campanile or Leaning Tower, #Pisa

Beautiful in the floodlight & with the moon as backdrop.

Appropriately in “Piazza der Miracoli”
The floodlight tower.

I just fine these particular flowers so photogenic.

Absolutely, the architect, Robert Stark Wilkinson, should be more widely known.
malcolmstoneman.bsky.social
I thought you would like it.

Of course, no longer an appropriate saying (if it ever was) as the hospital closed in the 1990s.

Yes, the calligraphy is beautiful. Apparently it is from Coleridge’s “Ancient Mariner”

The bed is on legs, there are no castors.

The Celtic style writing reads “Hide, Hide, Your Golden Light”. The guidebook says it is from Longfellow’s “The Spanish Student”

The Dickinson’s were very literary.

Yes, the bed designed & carved by Frank Dickinson is so true to #ArtsandCrafts principles.

He even carved the bedhead -
“O sleep it is a gentle thing”

Yes, very interesting how the name of a place ends up with negative connotations.

In Plympton you might be warned, by fellow pupils, not to be stupid or you’ll end up on the Moorhaven bus. Actually it was the bus for medical staff.

Thanks. 😊
It did take several attempts.
malcolmstoneman.bsky.social
Absolutely.
I think it knew it as well, posing as it did for the photo.

Great.
I am left pondering if I’ve ever had Candied Angelica? 🤔
Would you recommend it?
malcolmstoneman.bsky.social
I am sorry to say that I don’t have any suggestions.
However, he certainly deserves to be more widely known.
