At some point judges, lawyers and the media have to start calling Trump’s bullshit out. Publicly he says the National Guard will crack down on crime. In court though, knowing that’s a losing argument, DOJ says the Guard will protect federal buildings, etc. Either they’re lying in court or Trump is.

ICE has repeatedly engaged in every form of misconduct that’s triggered police dept. scandals for 20+ years:
Killing unarmed people
Excessive force
False claims of assault
Bad searches and arrests
Cases dismissed by prosecutors/judges
Targeting protesters
Viral videos
Lying to judges, etc.

The doomsayers never explain how Trump is going to cancel elections/declare martial law in a country with 340M people. The entire military/every sworn law enforcement officer in the U.S. is about as many people as L.A.? What’s he going to do, nuke NYC? Giving up is the only way these assholes win.

Sadly, I trust NYT about as much as I trust Kristi Noem and ICE. If these cowards, lapdogs and peddlers of both sides bs are fighting back it’s likely because they know that other major news orgs are doing the same, or they know that DoD is not going to retaliate in any substantial way.

Trump, Miller, and Noem, etc. are learning a lesson they should have learned years ago. The White House may be able to intimidate the GOP, some big law firms, the media, universities, etc. But they cannot intimidate or silence the American people. We may even make them look stupid trying.

The cowardly media should already be on this. What Trump/Vance and their gaggle of fascists say publicly is very different than what DOJ says in court. Publicly troops are needed to fight crime. In court, knowing crime cannot justify troop deployment, DOJ says they’re needed to protect the feds.

I think this may depend on the definition of “famed for.” I would argue that movie was Annie Hall. Not only was she the lead actress, but she won an Oscar, became a fashion icon, and actors still try to copy her romcom acting style to this day. This debate just shows what a great actor she was!

DHS was created after 9/11 to strengthen coordination among agencies focused on Homeland defense. There were concerns at the time about creating a domestic police force, accountable only to the POTUS, that would come to view immigrants, tourists, and even American citizens as the “enemy.” Well, 1/

When SNL does a far better job than the corporate media identifying what was wrong and most ridiculous about Bondi’s Senate testimony, it’s easy to see why democracy is fighting for its life. The media should be embarrassed, but they’re not because they are mostly cowards and lapdogs at this point.

I told y’all there was going to be evidence of grand jury abuse/selective prosecution in the Comey and James cases. Everything we’ve learned so far suggests this is true. These defenses rarely work, but Trump, Bondi and their unqualified hack, the U.S. Attorney, may have done the impossible.

We’ve seen this movie before. When a big city police department or large law enforcement agency relaxes its standards and hires a bunch of officers/agents quickly, a huge scandal will soon follow. In ICE’s case the scandal is already here. Lawsuits will soon be flowing like water.

The cowards in the media who allow Trump/Stephen Miller to get away with this crap really piss me off. These are big cities. News orgs could do whole segments every night exposing these lies. They could contrast what Trump/Miller say publicly with what DOJ says in court. They could do…journalism.
