I got feedback from a 13 yr old that the picture would be cooler if I drew the gun. The problem is I don't WANT to draw the gun because it is boring so I am using a 3D model. I did improve it with outlines and highlights though.

Another plate from my copy of John O. Westwood’s Facsimiles of Anglo-Saxon and Irish Manuscripts (1868). This one is from the illuminated Book of Kells housed at Trinity College, Dublin. Westwood’s attention to detail when he painted the reproductions is pretty spectacular.
