My husband and I write a blog about our travels, and sometimes general life in a new land. We recently talk about a couple of days in Lisbon, with some unusual places to visit.

Put Me In, Coach: A Trip to Lisbon
When we first heard that there was a museum of coaches in Lisbon, we were perplexed. First, it had to be explained (to John at least) that we were talking about transportation compartments pulled b…

Take your problems out to the forest and leave them beneath the trees.
You'll feel better, and it's also a good way to feed the monsters of moss and gloom who lurk in the shadows, so it's a win-win.

Congrats to everyone who covered the obviously bad faith, unprecedentedly illegal, & wildly unconstitutional data theft & dismantling of the federal government by a billionaire criminal Nazi & his henchmen as a legitimate process of “government efficiency.” Truly, well done.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.

This is clever.
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

True heroes
The RDU has heavy activist communities. And a loooong history of it. No way ICE was going to be there long.
My mom said from Raleigh that people there were squaded up against ICE & ICE is leaving Raleigh & Durham tomorrow. She said there were trainings at churches for ICE watch & all kinds of things. She said "these are our people & ICE is not welcome." Alright mommy!

THIS
A lot of the people lamenting Marjorie Taylor Greene’s departure from Congress—and celebrating her as some kind of principled maverick—are going to end up eating their words when she reemerges in 2028 to help lead a pro-groper, pro-Fuentes “America First” faction of the GOP.
