It's Sixmas Eve, a time for rivalries, anticipation and giving. Our gift to you all this year is a story, it's a history story, one that hopefully we can all come back to during times when our inspiration is low over these next few weeks...

Townsend could denounce Irn Bru and he will get to next year’s World Cup unscathed

I listen to a lot of audio books. I live on my own and not a big fan of silence.

But, dear God, the abuse of the Scottish accent by some of the narrators is horrific!!

Apologies, a thread. With Everitts’ extension, the thing the SRU seem to have missed, is that many of the rugby viewing public are quite knowledgable. It’s a complicated game, so to be a fan one needs to understand many facets of it. It’s not ‘just’ the results (although those are paramount). 1/6

That's quite a few players getting wasted at Edinburgh under some terrible coaching.

If only there was someone in a role who should take responsibility for that…
A frustrated Edinburgh Rugby boss Sean Everitt admitted the defeat to Leinster was a “carbon copy” of last week’s loss to the Bulls

Little #Lifehack for you folks.

When you’re packing for moving house, and carrying a box into a dark room, and find your feet bumping into something that your think is another box. Don’t kick it out the way. It may, in fact, be a TV… 🙄

This lad has faced off against SA & Ire starters in the URC, as well as Fra & Eng (Lions) in Europe. Townsend’s argument he’s too green is frankly little other than an up yours to those querying his selection . It Toonie was winning then he’s entitled to double down. But he’s not, he’s failing.

That’s an absurd YC!

Hey Bluesky contacts. I remember from back on ‘the dark place’ there was a guy who interacted about Scottish rugby, but was also a women’s ice hockey coach. You still out there or does anyone remember who it was?

This absolutely!
Perhaps the most pressing question following that contract extension is whether the careers of those young & talented Edinburgh players, such as Douglas, Patterson, and OBL, will survive two more years of brutally poor coaching?

Edinburgh marching on as expected under their newly extended coach! 💪

SRU have been talking up the need for “consistency” in their extension of Everitt, and it’s great to see their coach obliging with that. 👍

Edinburgh’s entire attacking philosophy appears to be let the opponent punch you long enough that eventually Douglas will grab a turnover & you can hit off broken play.

Anthony Watson. England rugby hero, and England Lions legend. Yet forever better known to Scotland supporters as one of two England players Shuggy effortlessly carried ten metres on his back while scoring a try. 🤣

Luckily, Edinburgh supporters can look forward to two more years of these amazing coaching decisions.

To be fair, that penalty against Tom Dodd was dreadful. FB kicks the ball, Dodd stands still and turns his back, FB runs right into him. Penalty!?

The lead directly to Bath’s try. Very poor decision.

Glad the SRU locked Everitt in for 2 more seasons just as the best club coach in the world becomes available.

Congratulations Edinburgh!! Your prize is a contract extension for Sean Everitt!!! Go mediocrity!! 🥳

Darcy Graham looks absolutely fed up. We can’t have one of the best wingers in Scotland feeling like that.

He either needs to get TF out of Edinburgh or they need to get a coach with a game plan where the strategy can count higher than 12…

So Everitt brings on schoeman and Ashman after only 30 minutes. Glad he’s so confident in his first picks…

Come on Edinburgh! 2 in a row! We know you can do it…😬

@edinbru.bsky.social Any idea of Lang has played at 10 for Edinburgh before? I honestly can’t recall, but that could easily be a memory thing as anything else!

OK folks. Help me out. I’m a huge fan of languages in all their forms and I’ve always felt in the languages I l;read that pronunciation is everything. And I know I’m being more than a wee bit picky but….

It’s Auld Lang Syne… Not Old lang Zine…

Not difficult you would think…
