Did you know that from tomorrow, Qualtrics is offering synthetic panels (AI-generated participants)?

Follow me down a rabbit hole I'm calling "doing science is tough and I'm so busy, can't we just make up participants?"

NEW: Five years of social media history is only a fraction of what the US Government will shortly demand of overseas visitors.

The full requirements will end tourism in the United States.

Below is the full, mind-blowing list.

My literal 14 year old niece has complained about people demanding to know if her art is AI.

At some point people need to stop and take stock of the harm they are doing by pointing fingers without reasonable proof.
If you consistently ask artists if their work is generative AI, you're actually being more discouraging than generative AI is.

I sat for a long while with my complicated feelings about "vibe coding". It is _genuinely_ empowering for many — opening a door to creating with code that otherwise would never exist. Also? It enables a dangerous dependency that could be a path to serfdom for coders. www.anildash.com/2025/12/02/v...

Last night there was a huge algorave at Corsica Studios to celebrate/commemorate the venue as it's closing its doors soon. A huge chunk of the London livecoding scene performed, across two rooms, I was gutted to miss it but there's a recording! www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzSt...

I think everyone expected Qualcomm to bugger up Arduino.

But I don't think most would have expected in just over a month.

Fun(?) fact: NeoPixels were named after two things:

1. Full rewrite of prior Arduino lib, avoiding namespace collisions during development. “New pixel library” = NeoPixel.
2. Secret homage to NEOchrome way back on Atari ST. There were more capable apps like DEGAS, but NEOchrome’s UI felt so crisp!
