I am a person who exists.

(She/they)
Hot damn! I got the spinache & artichoke dip, and the green bean casserole made! They're in the fridge and ready to pop into the oven tomorrow.

Husband's drying out the brined turkey drumsticks & sticking them in the fridge.

We didn't get as much done ahead of time as I wanted, but we did a lot ☺️!

Why is it so fuuucking difficult to get a burrito without rice in Portland?

I've been here for almost 20 years and there's still rice in my "no rice" burritos! I miss the Sonoran style Mexican food I used to get in Tucson. I miss it so much 😭!

I... accidentally ordered 2 pounds of bananas instead of 2 individual bananas.

Suppose I'll be making a ton of banana bread next week. Like, enough banana bread to freeze and eat for breakfast for the next six months. Omg 😅.

I miss avocado so much 😔.

We have a loaf of peasant loaf we didn't use over the weekend so I am going to make spinache & artichoke dip.

Because I need to use the bread, you see, and we need food to snack on while we cook tomorrow. I'll assemble it tonight so we can just pop it in the oven tomorrow 😏.

I also watched Finding Mr. Christmas ironically last year and ended up genuinely having a good time. Highly recommend!

(Referring to an OP repost w/out QTs).
on recommendation from my sister, I am embarking upon the Hallmark Channel series FINDING MR. CHRISTMAS, a reality show for wholesome men to compete for the right to star in a Hallmark Christmas movie

so excited to learn more from these experts about straight culture

CW: violent colonial oppression and glorious revolution.

RRR is a god-tier movie.

This song, in particular, has one of the most beautiful and haunting melodies I've ever heard in my life.
I'm not crying. YOU'RE crying 😭.

ALWAYS TAKE THE CASH OPTION.
$300 mill is a lot.

"At best, a winner in Wednesday’s drawing can hope for just over $430 million in total annuitized payments, based on one analysis. They would get even less if they opt for the cash option (currently valued at $315.7 million before taxes)."

I have to say that there are very few things as searingly hot, sexy, and attractive as a man who can dance confidently and well... Hell, not even well but *with feeling* and joy.

Not looking at the uptight British asshole here, obvi.

Surprise!
The smoker I ordered for my husband that was supposed to get here today will not be arriving until Saturday.

Guess we'll grill them instead and use a tin packet for the wood chips or something lol.
Since he's smoking turkey legs and we're not roasting a chicken, we won't have pan drippings to make gravy.

Hence, we're making funeral potatoes instead of mac n' cheese or mashed taters w/ gravy.

OK so what TV show or movie is the right kind of loud to cover up the sound of a woodchipper and chainsaws going off in the neighbor's yard ALL DAY LONG?

My whole body is on edge. I am autistically sensitive to sound and this ish is literally immobilizing me. Literally, not figuratively.
I love wood chippers, in theory (Fargo), but not in practice (Ow! My ears)!

Sometimes I feel really lucky that I got to see Bram Stoker's Dracula at a movie theater when I was a kid.

That memory will stick with me forever. Oh! The costumes! And cinematography! 😻.

One thing that pisses me off so much about Microsoft, google, and Adobe, in particular, is that they've added all of these AI "accessibility features" that don't work...
I work in accessibility and AI is very bad for accessibility.

It is so wrong all the time and the access it provides is so substandard, that it can't actually be called access.

Granted, I'm speaking mostly about AI captions and alt text. Just... AI is not an acceptable replacement for human work.

This dude snarkily asked a huge group of people if we got over our very correct take on shiiiitty tech, and he's now crying about it like he didn't intentionally provoke an entire social media user base.

Go back to twitter if you don't like the responses to a question YOU ASKED.

Neighbors are on day 2 of cutting down some decrepit trees & feeding them to the woodchipper...

Inside me there are two wolves: Autism and Attention Deficit Disorder.

For the first time in human history these majestic creatures have been captured on film. Behold, their majesty!

Guess we'll have to start doing all of our vegetable shopping at the dang Co-op again.

USA food industry not poison us challenge: impossible.
The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food. The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of PFAS — also known as "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

Hot cooking tips for learning to make soup, and cooking in general:
My advice, if you want it: Pick one soup you really like and try out a bunch of different recipes for it for awhile. Then, take what you liked best about those recipes and make your own version.

Oh my goodness, I forgot about that line lol.

What if I made oatmeal molasses cookies with bits of crystalized ginger mixed inside the cookies?!

Or oatmeal crystalized ginger cookies with a molasses frosting drizzle?!

Or oatmeal cookies with bits of crystalized ginger and dried apricot?! Oh I'm getting into fruit bar territory now!
What are your favorite ginger cookies? I'm talking: gingersnaps, gingerbread cookies, ginger molasses, ginger shortbread, etc.

Recipes and recommendations welcome!

With a crisp bite and plenty of flavor from ground ginger and rich molasses, these gingersnap cookies are a holiday staple that everyone will love.
