Precisely! And that’s why we cannot look so inwardly because how we engage with the globe broadly and our foreign allies (and enemies) impacts the entire supply chain, economic system, agriculture, and beyond.

I couldn’t agree with this more. Foreign policy has deep impacts on everyday people. From supporting our farmers to making energy more affordable, foreign policy can make or break lives right here at home.

I’ve been following this and the back and forth is fascinating.

If you’re wondering why X continues to be a MAGA echo chamber…
erinpetrey.bsky.social
I created my campaign X account in August this year. My personal account was created in 2008.

My entire campaign account feed is all MAGA. Makes it easy for me to see what the other side is being fed, but clearly this algorithm is only feeding one beast and that is Trump.

The number of people who have told me - a natural born American citizen with generations born in the U.S. before me - to self-deport is horrifying.

Spoke to LEX18 on Day 1 of the shutdown. I’m incredibly thankful to all the TSA agents at LEX for showing up even though your pay is delayed & we don’t know when paychecks will come.

Essential workers aren’t chips to be gambled with but the backbone of this country.

Government shutdown begins as Blue Grass airport operations continue normally
The federal government shutdown is having minimal immediate impact on Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, where flights continue departing on schedule and TSA security checkpoints remain operational.

“Change happens by listening and then starting a dialogue with the people who are doing something you don’t believe is right.” - Jane Goodall

And that is how my mother turned from a 3 time Trump voter to a registered Democrat.

We listen. We learn. We talk. We teach. We evolve.

They embraced opioids but now want to kill the one thing that can actually help people who would benefit from hemp-derived products the most.

See everyone soon in Lexington! We are at Mirror Twin at The Annex (right across the street - the former cider place). Come on over!

Women & Women First is already organizing against the military takeover of Portland.

Not only do we need the subsidies for a stopgap but a real reckoning of the insurance companies overall. They make too much and have too much power over our abilities to actually LIVE. Healthcare should be a basic right, not a profit engine.

Being a millennial is learning MySpace & LiveJournal and then Facebook & Tumblr and then Instagram & Twitter and then get professional for LinkedIn and then figure out TikTok and then adapt to Threads & BlueSky. Not to mention all the dating apps. We’re just in a constant state of new social apps.

The Pentagon’s call for military top brass to come to Quantico next week should terrify us all.

I hope I am wrong about what I believe will occur at this meeting, but history provides a blueprint for what happens when this kind of meeting is summoned. We only need to look at Germany in 1937.

Fascists always come for the art, don’t they?

Where are the monuments men when you need the most?

The National Park Service and United States Park Police removed a statue that depicted President Trump cavorting with his former friend Jeffrey Epstein from the National Mall on Wednesday morning.

The Park Police say the installation was out of compliance with a permit that originally allowed it to stay up till September 28.

It’s because everyone is just drinking because everything is horrible. There’s nothing fun about this administration - just abject horror and dismantling of our democracy.

Hemp is a critical crop for Kentucky & supports $300M annually in economic impact & over 3,000 jobs here. CBD/THC are also better alternatives for many people for pain mgmt over opioids esp those with cancer and chronic conditions. Federal legalization of all hemp products (& cannabis) is a MUST.

I cancelled my @washingtonpost.com subscription ages ago. I’m horrified that our once most trustworthy paper to bring the gov to the map is now bowing to them.

The darkness is here. And remember as WAPO says, “Democracy dies in the dark.”
progmil.bsky.social
@washingtonpost.com editorial board has endorsed Trump’s idea to reoccupy Bagram air base. This is madness, and certainly evidence of that paper’s continuing obsequious fawning over the administration’s worst ideas.
