We are the first generation that has sufficient resources to put a roof over every head, a meal on every table, to provide education and basic health care to all, and to care for the planet.

Yet we don't.

You have to ask yourself what's wrong with us?

Republicans have turned the USA into the kind of police state that Republicans always warned you America would become if you didn't vote for Republicans.
I'm beginning to think that placement of detention centers is going to seriously backfire on Republicans.

"ICE detention centers near you" breaks the magic information wall that "Bad stuff only happens in blue cities in other states" that right wing media relies on.

Apart from being objectively wrong it is politically naive from Republicans.

The cost of rectifying constitutional rights abuses by this Republican administration are going to become a whole new class of government expenditure contributing to the national deficit.

Step one: Complain constantly our elections are not safe.

Facts: Election fraud is minuscule

Step Two: Commit election fraud.

Step Three: Yell loudly election fraud exists

Step Four: Legislate to make voting impossibly hard

Step Five: Only one party wins elections

When you look at the two main classes of people who will be disenfranchised (women and non passport holders) by state it's not clear that Republicans aren't targeting their own voters out of a misplaced assumption that undocumented immigrants were voting.

The SAVE Act Would Disenfranchise Millions of Citizens
The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

Would I be wrong to assume that "Material inconsistencies" is yet another euphemism for "lies"?
Another shooting case falls apart (this time ICE, not CBP).

These are the Venezuelans that ICE excused shooting by claiming they beat him w/shovels.

One of the weirdest things about the Republican war on clean energy as a result of their climate change denialism is that they have already lost.

All they are doing is maximizing the profits other countries will make supplying the technology.
Final EIA-860 is out, and 2025 really did it: 54 GW of new U.S. electric capacity, 96% clean. Solar again carries the offense, and we built more storage in 2025 than the cumulative total through 2023. More and more and more additions... but also record low retirements.

Is it just my imagination or did Republicans use to be better at keeping their lies synchronized?

You can't prove received wisdom wrong if you don't try... and you've got to give China credit for not being afraid to try. A step on the way to serious reduction of shipping emissions by 2050? Or an expensive experiment with niche coastal uses? Time will tell!

If we every guilty person on the Epstein list had their assets seized as punishment for their crimes, we could probably wipe out the national debt.

They are all involved.
It’s the Epstein Administration.

No wonder Bondi spent the entire hearing screeching and deflecting.

If we're going to do this then let's at least organize a donut festival and allow everyone a vote!

Normal voting restrictions apply. Voter's may be disenfranchised due to inability to provide proof of citizenship or a birth certificate with that matches your married name.

... and Republican voters have joined their chosen leaders in the toilet of humanity.

Does anyone know of an analysis that breaks down the expected impact of disenfranchisement by party?

I have seen maps that show by passport and by married name mismatch, but no analysis of party line impact.

It seems entirely possible that this backfires on Republicans in many ways.

Trump: "Europe respects America like never before"

Europe:
In Europe, we look at America and see frightening soviet tendencies.

Even more disconcerting is the fact that your leader is an idiot. If he were smart, at least there would be a chance he would see the light.

Unfortunately, he can only see glory and $ signs.
