You do not need to take me seriously as a musician until I write a song that implores you to get this party started.

Under no circumstances would I ever want to open the YouTube app and be faced with an auto-playing "Short". And yet I can't seem to disable it.

Perfect for working from home, the ultimate in comfort. Angle the camera right and no one can see you throwing shapes. And when the day ends you let loose and go ribbons out.

A “You’ve Got Mail” remake set on Bandcamp Friday where Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are rival noise artists who accidentally buy each others’s tape because they both released under a new alias.

#NowPlaying Heavy Cloud (@heavycloud.bsky.social) - Here Is Where It Hurts

All murky loops, drones, and found sounds. It is very good and you should be listening to it too.

"When he glanced at the tape, he saw the iron oxide flaking off, that he was catalyzing the very process he hoped to pre-empt. He let it happen for nearly an hour, then repeated the process with five more loops."

How ‘The Disintegration Loops’ Saved William Basinski’s Life
The composer’s ambient masterwork, created from disintegrating magnetic tape, became synonymous with 9/11. When he made it, his own life was falling apart.

I listen to what she says.
@subtleinternal.bsky.social suggests that the way forward for noise/industrial label nuindustrial.bandcamp.com
is split releases.
So, with that in mind, in addition to your own, I’m calling for submissions with your faves.
Let’s interact noisies!

I'm a few days late but this walkthrough by @drewdaniel.bsky.social of his new album hit home in a lot of ways. But one thing in particular is the uncertainty of whether the emotions with which we aim to imbue our music actually translate to the emotions experienced.

Everyone should be talking about how amazing The Future Sound of London's new ">> UNREALITIES" album is. It's unlike anything they've released before. Take Environments (first volume), and give it a full planetary atmosphere to breathe and you sort of approach it.

I'm trying to figure out how to break it to my very cutely excited kids that I do *not* want to keep the hubcap they found on the sidewalk in front of our house to use as a Christmas decoration.

One of my big regrets is not allowing myself to be more adventurous back when I was DJing and playing everything I like. I hewed too close to genre boundaries and what I thought my friends liked. This two part mix was fairly diverse for me though (part 1 is sort of electro/acid).
Oh hey, here I opened one of my more varied techno mixes with it back in 2005:
