#BraveWrite They scouted for an appropriate landing site and found a crater with a gently sloping, relatively dust-free rim just south of the equator on the pocked plain of an old basaltic lava flow. It had a high ferrous content and displayed no gravitational anomalies.

#BraveWrite “I’d like you to focus on the equatorial region and to look for shallow craters at least 500 meters in diameter – ones with gentle slopes and rounded lips, not jagged rocky rims.”
Damien twitched. “You’re thinking you might have to land the ship on this moon.”

#BraveWrite Along the equatorial region a chain of mountains, some spitting fountains of fire, branched off in a couple of places toward the north and south. At 30º south latitude a long, deep chasm emerged from the terminator line and angled southwest.

#BraveWrite The cooler field that had shown up in the infrared images could now be positively identified as a body of water, grayish-green in color at the center and yellowish at the shallower edges. It extended from the north pole a good quarter of the distance to the equator.

#BraveWrite The ship was sitting perpendicular to the equator, at a 90º angle relative to the star, which meant they were looking at the terminator line bisecting the sphere from north to south.

What if, after all this—
years kept in the dark,
years of uncertainty,
years feeling small—
I found some self-respect?

I did not stoop so low.
Why, then, am I to blame?

the #stoop was made from repurposed #temporized lumber
formerly known as the front door

now we had a stoop on which to slumber
we just had to move the stairs out some more

or it wooda been a teeter-totter
& that's too topsy turvy for transcendence
balance means a whole lotter
