My newest project is "The Tourist's Guide to London Football Soccer." It's a distillation of five years of eating, drinking, and spectating at every professional football ground in London, plus Wembley, Tottenham (both stadiums), and Lord's.

I was privileged to read an early version of this. It's a fascinating read. Loved the reveal!

No one who has ever had to deal with American health insurance claims has come through it and thought “boy, I wish that had taken even more of my time.” Not a single person.
Cassidy: "The president is proposing that we take the $26b that would be going to insurance companies if we just do an extension and give it directly to the American people in which 100% of the money is used for them to purchase healthcare on their own terms. That makes them an informed consumer."

Mickey 7 (2022), the book, was long after All Systems Red (2017). Mickey 7 was also a fair bit more nuanced than Mickey 17.

I’m over the moon to have a story published at @clarkesworldmagazine.com after many years of trying. If you think it is reflective of our current (or future) political situation, well, that’s for you to decide. “Ratlines” is available here: clarkesworldmagazine.com/baldwin_11_25/

Djed seems like he'd be all over pop culture, which is my glaring weakness. If I can recruit a former Spur, I'd go for Dier, too.

The thing about book piracy is: libraries exist! You can read ebooks for free, legally, and they’ll THANK you for doing it. They’ll even help you find new books to read for free.

The "9 months in slush" is not directed at Kaleidotrope. More an observation about how long I've had pieces wait at other SFF markets.

A year is fine and about normal. Two years is a maybe. Three years is "I'll try other markets first." However, the monthly submission window is a positive. If you responded to subs in < a month, I'd be way more willing to wait on publication since the piece wouldn't spend 9 months in slush.

I'm excited to see that there are ZERO category 3 or category 4 tickets available for Kansas City's World Cup matches next summer. Thanks for that, Gianni.

So how big does the donation to the "Presidential Library" need to be? $5k? $10k? A 747?
Critical part of the President's new $100,000 charge for H1-B visas: The Administration can also offer a $100,000 discount to any person, company, or industry that it wants. Replacing rules with arbitrary discretion.

Want visas? You know who to call and who to flatter.

Thanks to Reagan and the National Labor Relations Act, authors cannot legally unionize or take collective action without being liable for antitrust violations. That’s something you might consider addressing when possible, Representative.
