Can I also say I am so angry today. It's the lives lost, the cities wiped out, the time taken from us. We have been consumed with this level of unspeakable violence for 2 years. To think of all the potential futures taken away... it's unfathomable

No bomb should’ve ever dropped on a single civilian, a single child.

If this is the end of them I’m glad.

But the loss is so so immense and the future so uncertain.

What does “peace” mean when it sits atop a genocide? What peace when the genocider dictates its terms?

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

“Under international law, states have a legal obligation to prevent and to stop a genocide from happening.

“That means ending complicity, applying real pressure and ending arms transfers. We are not seeing that, we are not even seeing the bare minimum from our governments.”

“Let me be very clear; there is a genocide going on in front of our very eyes, a live-streamed genocide on all of our phones.

“No-one has the privilege to say we are not aware of what is happening. No-one is the future will be able to say we did not know.

Canada has a responsibility under the UN Arms Trade Treaty to assess whether defence exports could be used to violate human rights overseas.

"I think the immediate response should be to fix the loopholes in Canada's national control regime […]”

“The Palestinian cause is not a cause for Palestinians only, but a cause for every revolutionary, wherever he is, as a cause of the exploited and oppressed masses in our era.”

The words of Ghassan Kanafani’s are heard today at Calgary’s Rally and March for Palestine.
A Flag of Palestine is suspended against a clear blue sky from a hand-held pole. The tops of Calgary landmarks — old City Hall and Castell Building — appear in the background.

A line of bikes and riders roll along the Glenmore Pathway. It is dark, but head lights show the way, and red taillights are prominent in the photo. Bikes are settled in place with lights on. People are scattered about socializing during a break. Dark tree silhouettes fill out the background. A dark pathway is lit only by a bicycle head lamp. Trees with pale park are lit from ground to below their canopy.

On my grocery trip by bike, I was inspired to take a moment.
A bald eagle stands tall on some rocks in a shallow Bow River. After being bothered by some magpies, the bald eagle is photographed taking flight on a low path over the river.

Israel has continued to illegally intercept vessels from the Sumud Flotilla.

As Canada says it's “not able to guarantee the safety of Canadian travelers, or to provide them with security and protection abroad," the people are defending the flotilla.

Protests are sparking around the world:

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt:
60 nautical miles? Wow.

If ordinary citizens of the world, with small and underresourced boats can do that, why states don't break the blockade with their navies?

Is this the world we live in? No, we do not accept it.

Go, go Flotilla! Sail safe.
God's wind.
