Walz: "This cannot be the norm. It cannot be the way that we deal with our political differences. Now is the time for us to recommit to the core values of this country ... Talk to a neighbor rather than arguing. Debate an issue. Shake hands. Find common ground. This is who Melissa Hortman was."

My very first research project was testing CCDs for Rubin in a detector lab at @brookhavenlab.bsky.social.

Big projects span careers to plan, test, build, and run. And the projects build careers in return.

The cuts to NSF and DOE will destroy existing careers and will smother early careers. 🧪🔭
The Universe is full of color 🌈🔭 🧪

NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory will have 6 filters to see specific ranges of colors, labeled u, g, r, i, z, and y. They allow Rubin to #CaptureTheCosmos from high-energy ultraviolet (u), through visible light (g, r), all the way into the near-infrared (i, z, y).

Sourdough One Feed Levain loaves from yesterday. I am really loving the asymmetry of the intentional natural split loaf.
I used Janie’s Artisan Blend for majority of the flour and some Barton Springs Mill Yecora. #latebirdbread #breadsky #janiesmill
