I always thought it interesting subtext that Ozymandias was so obsessed with the Egyptian mythos and esthetic that he recreated it in Antarctica where it’s jarringly out of place compared with its original context. He’s so committed to his perception that he can’t see beyond it.

I had forgotten how garish and intentional the coloration was in the comic to add a level of unsettling contrast to the grounded realness of the character line art.

Just about anything with that logo will get me to buy a ticket, yeah. Always hoping it’ll be good though. Still wishing the video game from 2003 would have been official continuity, but whatever, it was good enough to be *my* official sequel.

Saw the new TRON movie and I give it a big thumbs up. I’d been cautiously optimistic after seeing early trailers and there’s parts of the movie that I had to suspend my disbelief over, but it’s enjoyable and I found myself actually exhilarated as it continued. I’m gonna see it again in theaters. :)

This past August I walked to 9543 Culver Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232 which is the historic Hull Building that served as the shooting location for Flynn’s Arcade in the original 1983 movie TRON. So cool!

Oh my god, I looked at the first and thought…. Hmmm that’s cool sketchwork, then switched to the second and realized the lettering and unexpectedly busted out laughing in the restaurant attracting a couple stares.

Oh YES! This is magic, seeing the original roughs lead into the final presentation, -the little nuances of the basic pose and the shifts coming about when doing the final linework. YEAHHHH!!!! Especially love the little linework tricks to indicate light and shadow and just graphical strength. :D

I simply adore how vibrant these are along with how easy-breezy they appear to be drawn, almost like they were always there on the paper and you just illuminated the lines without having to do any underdrawing first. SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!

A pic from my personal sketchbook that imagines a Zootopia sequel that would have me in line for the midnight day zero showing!

A picture of Judy Hopps encased in a cyborg suit of armor like what was shown in the movie Robocop. Think of it as "Robohopps" She's walking forwards with an awkward, rigid, mechanical stance that's emphasized by an incredible amount of clunky, tortured sound effects suggesting this robot body was built by the lowest bidder out of spare junk parts that have been rusting away. Judy laments her fate but takes solace in the fact that while her body may be compromised she at least has her adorable tail still intact and looking as delightfully fuzzy as ever. To her right is a super cute and toy-like bunny rabbit who loudly taunts her by saying that as adorable as her tail remains she can't hold a candle that THEIR fuzziness is. BEHOLD THE UTTER MAJESTY OF THE FUZZY.

it's a hand-drawn art piece of wiley, a wolf, in a scoutfit, boots, and hat that are all mainly the color of hay or straw, running rightward across stones on a creek. he's holding a stick that's almost as tall as he is! the fact that he's so agile while he's maintaining that balance is a testament to his strong connection to the outdoors. and of course, he's got that infectious wolfy grin on his face 😊
