Politics, yes. But also film, theatre, music etc.
I once believed the Tories could not be so stupid to vote a charlatan and crook like Boris Johnson for leader.

I also believed voters could never be so self-destructive to vote for a Johnson Tory Party.

Since being wrong, I have no belief the same fools won’t do it again. With Farage and Reform.

‘Even the oldest hands will spend hours worrying about their backs, their flanks, the cars that pass and the cars that don’t, the streets they cross and the houses that they enter. Yet still fail, when the moment is upon them, to recognise the danger that greets them face to face.’

This is true.

It drives me insane that Elon Musk basically did a Holodomor on the third world and it's not treated like a bigger deal. This should be the number one thing that people know him for. This should be in the first paragraph of his Wikipedia entry. This is a history book scale atrocity.
As a direct result of the obscene actions of Russell Vought and Elon Musk in destroying USAID, we can expect “at least 9.4 million additional deaths by 2030, if the current funding trend continues.

About 2.5 million of those deaths are projected to be children under the age of 5.”

In 2022 Trump Media shares reached 97.5

Today, at the start of 2026, Trump Media shares touched 10.1

A 90% FALL.

Like every other Trump business, Truth Social is a TOTAL FAILURE

Yet Trump is a billionaire. How???

Selling US secrets to Russia. Blackmail. Looting. Global gangsterism. Fraud.

Reform isn’t The Conservatives tribute Party. It’s a fake Party.

Just as the Republicans only exist now to serve Trump, Reform is a one man band. Reform is whatever Farage wants it to be.

For now he wants to pretend it’s a Tory-like Party.

But if Farage gets power, watch it go fascist. Fast.

It's a 'generational injustice' that needs righting. It's a disaster for the economy as a whole to saddle young generations with the inability to do anything other than repay debt.

Rising unemployment will soon prevent even that.

Yes! And doesn't Richard Wilson look the part? With Rumpole, I think it equipped young sprogs with everything needed to conduct their own defence in cases of shoplifted Blackjack or Fruit Salad chews.

Good call, it was top notch and the opening theme was well chosen.

Play for Today, also from the 70s, was a great watch. There's an episode on iPlayer with a very young Alison Steadman, Nuts in May, really funny.

Listening to Janacek’s Sinfonietta - and what a wonderful piece of music that is - I was reminded it was used as the opening theme tune for Crown Court.

Anyone else watched that as a kid? Great tv and introduction to the justice system. In childhood when it was easier to believe in justice.

I hold thee nothing dearer than the rest.
Nay, tell me not thy strong young heart will break
If to thy prayer such cold response I make;
It will not break -- hearts cannot break, I know,
Or this weak heart had broken long ago.
Ah no! I would not love thee, if I could;’

Great live songs from mid 70s on this single-shaped cd set.

Just on a fashion note, I like the t-shirt and denim waistcoat combo.

And the the scarf / wrist bands with the double denim.

The leather waistcoat and bare chest is cool.

And the short length tight waist band jacket is classic.
