Flaneur and observer of the urban condition. Professional urban designer, but I don’t post much about the subject as a lot is said more eloquently by others. Scale models, mountain bike rides, gardening.
My son is playing in a graduation recital if you are interested in listening. www.youtube.com/live/Te4LWdi...

Randomly thinking about a new development in my neighbourhood that is going to be home to over 500 new residents, and the only commercial development it seems to have spurred is a drive through Wendy’s and a Tim Horton’s.

Check your expectations about what a handful of 8 plexes will do.

<— On team “no backflip” in figure skating.

It’s dumb looking and doesn’t get you any points. Last thing we need is young skaters wasting time learning gymnastics.

(For the record, my daughter is a sanctioned figure skating coach and I get all my opinions from her.)

Olympic hockey with NHL players is still my favourite hockey.

Nice to have it back.

More interior work on the Academy M113.

Vallejo filters followed by Vallejo and AK pigments.

Next up I’m going to seal the horizontal surfaces with some dilute matte medium, followed by a blow down and flat coat on the vertical surfaces.

Time for Canada to fully cover mental health care under the Canada health act.

I am 100% sure Conservatives will support this as it’s never about the guns, it’s always mental health according to them.

I think the answer is hidden in the question.

Edmonton is notorious for constantly framing urbanism around transportation. We have this strange idea that if you move people efficiently you will somehow create great communities.

Successful cities go at it the other way around.
I think a lot about how even with higher transit ridership, a growing bike network, way better pedestrian infrastructure, and dense suburbs, Edmonton doesn’t *feel* as urban as a lot of cities in the United States

I think a lot of it comes down to improving commercial districts and making cool shit

I’m glad my city has a truck eating bridge.

How these guys miss all the low bridge signs is still beyond me.

Terrible news from Tumbler Ridge. Way too close to home.

Just heartbroken.

The back flip is stupid.

It gives you no points. It puts you at high risk of injury in training. It takes time out of your program.

It’s Disney on ice and nothing more than a simple crowd pleaser.

Be a shame if Trump’s blood pressure was rising to unhealthy levels.

Real shame.

Good show.

It’s also that time every four years where someone brings up the female skater who did a back flip and didn’t win because of it.

A back flip isn’t a thing in figure skating.

Why aren’t you advocating for back flips in archery. Or curling. Or rock climbing…?

It’s that time every four years where I fly in to fits of rage at people who don’t think figure skating is a real sport.

I’ve spent way too many 5:00 AM mornings at the rink to put up with that crap.

Don’t share fake things and when you are called out on it take it down.

Or leave it up for a day so you can farm clicks like this guy which makes him an easy block in my world.

I’m more intrigued that someone from Edmonton was in the Epstein files.

#yeg
They looked for “Don T” in the Epstein files and redacted all instances, which means they also redacted a lot of “don’t”

Looks like the North Koreans, Epstein fans, Iranian regime and Trump loyalists are all selling their Bitcoin.

Left 15% on the table but still happy to see it die.

Death to Bitcoin.

Got out waaaayyyy too early, but hey know your risk.

Death to the Bitcoin.

Please let the decline continue. Praying to the gods of short term trading.

Good for my portfolio and a good offering to the gods of fire and destruction.

Wishing nothing but the worst to the hodlers.

Charts of Bitcoin and the decline of craft breweries match perfectly.

And like skinny jeans some will never let it go.

EV rebates are somewhat absurd.

Just give people almost free E-bikes and you could accomplish so much more for the climate and for citizens pocketbooks.

I’ve heard Bitcoin described as “millennial cringe”.

Been short ever since.

Going to mute “Washington Post”.

A longtime gripe of mine about social media is that there are so many people from the media (which is good); however, they way over discuss their own industry.
