Final version of the map made for Christmas! I think it looks pretty good.
I have not been paying attention to the NDP leadership race, and sorta just assumed McPherson was gonna sweep.

Very interested to see what is gonna happen here...

Hey Edmonton friends, the plans for Wîhkwêntôwin's neighbourhood renewal are VERY good.

Please help keep them that way (and ask for MORE) in the city's survey (ends Feb 8!). engaged.edmonton.ca/buildingwihk...

Getting to Calgary Trail or Gateway sucks 👎

Awful transit service and inconsistent sidewalks mean that the thousands of workers and shoppers who come here daily are forced onto two traffic-clogged roads

That could all change with Edmonton's bus rapid transit plan

I think the majority of cross streets on Whyte Ave had cars creeping into the crosswalk as I was crossing

No right on red and raised crossings now!

I’ve never seen the Century Park bike parkade this busy! Especially in January

This is doubly impressive given that to access it you have to go downtown and fill out a form that the service center people don’t even know exists, to get a blank white card that only works at this one place

Beginning to believe Edmonton was very lucky we did the redesign when ridership was already at its lowest, as people flocked back to the system we sorta skipped the adjustment period and immediately saw the positive impacts of more direct and frequent buses

I would be very interested to see changes in traffic counts along these three roads pre/during/post valley line construction...

My thoughts are maybe we don't need 3 multi-lane arterial roads within 1km...

🚨Want to know which Canadian companies are profiting off of ICE and Trump’s violent mass deportation agenda?

Well I just spent the last few days digging into exactly that.

Here are the companies I found, how much they’re making, and whether they’re getting Canadian taxpayer dollars.

Sneak peek:

Riding a 10 bus across SE Portland at 7:30 AM.

Before Covid, this bus would've gotten more crowded approaching downtown.

Now the load is constant with frequent turnover.

Demand for transit is still high but less centralized. Frequent bus grids excel at this.

For all the fearmongering about capital flight from New York City, there’s an exodus few want to talk about: working people.

Sky-high rents and outrageous child care costs are already pushing families out of the city they keep running.

That’s what we have to change.

Toronto implemented bus lanes within a week of the council decision. I'd like to see Ottawa move with that same hustle.
I’ve heard from many residents frustrated at the state of the bus service in #Ottawa. They are looking for answers. This needs to be treated like an emergency watermain repair. It is a critical service that can not be allowed to flounder in this way. Two immediate solutions need to be considered:

In Edmonton we talk a lot about our deficit of industrial land, yet our office parks are filled with small grocery stores, cafes, and other shops that would be much better placed within neighbourhoods.

Legalize Cafes Everywhere!
Municipal codes should allow for the operation of cafes in most residential areas to free up space for businesses who actually need larger commercial buildings.

Very interested what comes of the route 7 when the Valley Line West opens

It follows a similar route, but since it has local stops it could be a great ridership builder

My main hope is we see frequent service on 107 ave all the way to 101 street

Crazy idea: Pick what you want Whyte Ave. to be. This hybrid of a trucking route, high street, pedestrian zone, emergency vehicle route, and main east-west vehicle connector feels mediocre or worse for all users.

The thing that I hate most in the world is some mother fucker in a Winter Park McMansion who thinks that scamming people is cool and smart but paying taxes is for suckers.

These dicks think they’re winning but their souls smell like ass and they’ve built nothing but wealth.

The young, educated, ambitious people who want to live in Toronto and Vancouver are being forced out by high prices.

We could build more housing for them, but we prefer our cities to become stagnant retirement communities.

Quite frankly, it’s outrageous that Mark Carney is cutting Statistics Canada. If he was Stephen Harper or Pierre Poilievre, I feel like this would be getting a lot more backlash.

Carney of all people should know the importance of high-quality data and information about the country.
