I'm thinking of getting one of these tattooed on either side of my, umm, sit-upon. Then whenever someone says "Go on, it'll put the roses back in your cheeks" I can say "Already taken care of thanks".

The second weekend of ACL Fest is underway and I can hear whoever's playing from here. Well, the bass anyway. I rather like it. I might be past my festival days but I still love that they happen.

Ha ha! it pretty much is. Just about everyone I've worked with or been friends with here owned one or more firearms. I've never been tempted though. By the way, strictly speaking Texas is part of the south, but I never think of it that way. It has enough of its own identity that it's apart.

Believe me, there have been times I've been tempted to nip down to Academy Sports and Outdoors and purchase a firearm. When I was in the ATC for a while I really enjoyed target shooting with a .22 rifle. Can't get the smell of cordite out of my nose after all these years. But no guns for me.

squeaky suspensions, and of course, BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP. Right on cue, there's one out there now, delivering another package to someone who might or might not have a good reason for not going to a shop for whatever it is. Sometimes it's justified but I believe for most now, it's just a habit. 'Kinell.

In the last few years though there's been an exponentially increasing amount of a different kind of activity. There are delivery vans and cars - Amazon, UPS, FedEx, supermarkets - coming and going throughout the day. My apt. is a long way from the road so it's very peaceful, or it was. Engines and

I like living in semi-communal conditions of the kind you get in an apartment complex. It reminds me of the low-rise flats I lived in for a while when I was a kid. There are always people around to chat with, say hello to, bump into, and there's often activity of a neighbourly nature outside.

Yes, there's at least one missing word in that but you know what I mean.

'Kite' will always be one of my favourite albums. I prefer her version of 'Days' to the original, and that's saying summat because Ray Davies almost a god as far as I'm concerned.

Remembering the late Kirsty MacColl on her birthday. She had the perfect voice for pop and They Don’t Know remains my go to song of hers. Such a tragedy that we lost her so young.

90 volts? That'll give a hell of a belt if you're daft enough to touch both terminals, and you can bet a few kids tried, or blagged a mate into doing it. I had no idea you could still get those.

This reads to me very much like the tale of somebody who once said PRIMM-er by mistake in front of people and got the piss absolutely ripped out of them, and who after many many years of hard work and perseverance finally achieved control of the Merriam-Webster social media accounts
merriam-webster.com
Here’s a primer on ‘primer.’

It’s pronounced ‘PRIMM-er’ if you mean “a small book” or “a short informative piece of writing.”

It’s pronounced ‘PRY-mer’ if you mean “an initial coat of paint.”
