Here it is, the story I've been burying myself in for months. The Canary islands are special to me but in Tenerife I found La Orotava, and local wine, and I fell in love all over again.

But can I go back knowing tourism is destroying, has destroyed, so much?

I read on Tiktok that kids are starting to use "that's AI" to mean "that's dumb/stupid" or "yeah right/chinny reckon" and it's given me a warm glow inside

For the last in our November-long series of pieces on pubs and pub culture, @fred-gs.bsky.social visits The Fat Cat in Norwich, a pub that's close to his heart for many reasons. We hope you enjoy this beautiful salutation of an all-time great.

Cool for Cats — The Fat Cat in Norwich, Norfolk — Pellicle
Night has fallen over The Fat Cat in Norwich, and I’ve been here long enough to watch the clientele change. I saw the post-work crowd rush in; now, as it thins, I head to the bar to order a pint of Ti...

Today's listening. A uniquely terrible name, I hated the advent of the term "IDM" when what it really means is "proggy as fuck"

On that last RT, sometimes I don't drink because of my MH, sometimes I don't drink because I don't feel like it, sometimes I don't drink because I'm training the next day and want to sleep properly. Don't raise eyebrows, don't make it seem like I'm pregnant. Don't be a dick. Just say okay.

It's so easy, if someone declines the offer of an alcoholic drink, to just move on to, "Well, is there something else I can get you, instead? Soft drink? Cup of tea?"
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Sure, also, why don't I flip through the air like Simone Biles

I can reveal London’s giant AI generated Christmas artwork, the subject of much online mockery, is being torn down - and I honestly *genuinely* think you’ll never guess why. www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...

I dunno if any of you are familiar with the Jungle Bros. tune "I'll House You" but whenever I'm watching House and he says something sassy or does something awful to someone, Tom starts chanting "Girl, he'll House you! Girl, he'll house you!" and it's always 100% appropriate

One thing that triggers a BPD meltdown in me is not being listened to, because it makes me feel like I don't exist. Guess who melted down in a pharmacy today.

Plus side, I get my blue inhaler tomorrow for the price of a slap on the wrist for not ordering one before I needed it (??)
Now on day two of trying to get a blue inhaler. It would be easier to get my hands on quaaludes.
