A couple of days late, I’m celebrating #ThresholdDay. This year is the 30th anniversary, I don’t understand why such a monumental day isn’t a holiday around the globe.

As I saw every time, I want some of those Voyager sickbay pyjamas.

#StarFleetAcademy is really very good. Four episodes in and I’m feeling about it like
I did for #StrangeNewWorlds. It’s hopeful, tense, funny, moving, inspiring. I love it #SFA #SNW #StarTrek

Also exciting or something anyway, someone has left a small bag of gravel in one the cubbies outside my front door. What does this mean? What am I supposed to do with it? I’m not known for accepting gifts of gravel. Or am I?

This is exciting, a new film called “A Town in Nova Scotia” is being made in my town right now, and they’re filming in a block of flats (not mine) in my road this week! I keep saying I need to get out more, will the chance to spot Bill Nighy do the trick?

I just built a standing desk i.e. I got a tabletop from the Swedish shop plus some extra long table legs from eBay then I’ve screwed them together. It’s my second one, the desk area is bigger now. This is a very cheap and easy option but only if you’re used to standing all the time you work.

As of this month, I have been working in libraries for 30 years. THIRTY.

I started as a library assistant in the public library system in Lund, Sweden. A great job where I learnt and experienced loads, although the pay was so bad. Also the first time I was called an “effing c*nt” in the workplace.

According to Trump, nobody had heard of AI two years ago. What is he on.

When do they start playing the “get off the stage” music like at the Oscars?
January 21, 2026 at 2:35 PM
I was watching the news but only managed a few minutes of Trump until I had to put Star Trek on so I don’t entirely lose hope for humanity (SNW rewatch if you’re wondering)

I’m watching #starfleetacademy again. It’s brilliant. Paul Giamatti as Nus Braka is an excellent villain. The Doctor is fabulous as always. New favourite? Tbf whichever iteration I’m watching is my favourite but I’m so please this one is starting out really well 🖖🙌

The lastest iteration of Star Trek started yesterday, Starfleet Academy, and I've just watched the first two episodes. Never mind the fact that I say all Trek is good and none is bad, it really is good! Good characters, great potential, some really funny moments, and to me, it's very very Star Trek.

My ancient water heater has been fixed today, again... It can be repaired as long as they can source spare/reconditioned parts, and it runs very well when it's feeling good, but will one day need replacing with a newer model. I feel this is a metaphor for me.

My former feral cat, who has lived with me for a year and three months, has just sat next to me - actually touching - for almost five minutes. It’s a new year miracle!

Watching Matilda while resting on the sofa. I’m so glad my parents encouraged my love of reading with regular trips to the library but they weren’t as pleased when I was reading their Harold Robbins novels and asking what an “erogenous zone” was.
