Your reminder not to dress up as a Native person this Halloween.

That includes white folks donning the “Chakotay” tattoo in your #StarTrek costume.

So I just wanted to share this post with folks who are interested. Especially those in the #Titanic community that probably never seen an iceberg at sea at night in different conditions

So the pictures are a bit brighter than what I actually see. But with no aid, I could barely see the first and could see the other two.

I’m a trained look out with 25 years of experience and can spot objects in the water.

But with no moon it’s definitely difficult to spot anything.

A tale of three icebergs.

So all three of these icebergs are roughly the same distance away between 0.5-0.75 nautical miles away from the ship.

They all have the same exposure. 10 seconds.

The first, no moon.
The second, almost full moon, full cloud cover.
The third, full moon no cloud cover
A picture of the night it is very dark and you cannot see the horizon just the stars A overexposed night shot of mountains in the background clouds on the water and a iceberg An overexposed picture of a iceberg floating in the ocean with some clouds above it and northern lights above it
