I love The Highwayman so much, and the rubber hose stylings of his animation help a lot

I love this show so much
My 5 star review on Letterboxd from 9.24.2024

"Nobody:
The Highwayman: 👁️👁️ I'm the Highwayman

What a truly wonderful piece of art. I love the way the story is told in a bundle of fables."

Really good thread that keeps getting better each day, check it

Doing my October thread of a horror movie I like a day again! Not much thought beyond “you should watch this”. Enjoy!

1. Oddity

This man at the film fest just let his alarm go off for 1 minute 43 seconds (I saw his screen) and had the gall to keep looking around cause he thought it was somebody else

It has to suck to be an AFI fan. The band releases nothing but heat, but their style refuses to stay nailed down. 15 year old Noah who only knew Miss Murder would laugh in your face if you told him that in 2025 AFI would be putting out a goth album, but that sure seems to be what's happening

Anyway super worth leaving work early for. Shit week, but I have big plans for movies on Sunday and that's gonna save me.

Decided to do a fun little "hey, it's October" double feature. I saw the remake like, 10 years ago and didn't get it, but I'm looking forward to enjoying it a lot more this time around with the context of the original.

Ok I guess this one isn't technically in NYC like the original, but still, NYC isn't like that anymore either so same difference

Also, talk about a tale of two New Yorks, ya know? These movies may as well take place on different planets the way the settings are so disconnected.
bubbadabad.bsky.social
Damn, the art show people here are worse than the beatniks in Bucket of Blood
bubbadabad.bsky.social
Gotta say, the original is a real fucking all timer sicko film. I'm already liking the remake more just having seen it. I know I'm gonna miss that crazy Savini head pop though. Holy shit what a kill

Real Star Warmers remember the original
Screenshot with the text "Hasn’t even been a year since i got into A Field In England and I’m already to the point where I’m making a Star Warms AU…. I’m cooked

#AFieldInEngland #Fanart #Art"

The post was deleted because of the typo "Star Warms"

I'm in love with the scenes here that you can tell were made for 3D, cause it's mostly in the Slo-mo scenes (perfection) but other times it's a gun in the middle of the scan pointed right at your face

Decided to watch the 2016 Assassin's Creed movie and, if you can believe it, it's dogshit.
bubbadabad.bsky.social
No way this is sequel baiting
bubbadabad.bsky.social
Soundtrack blows btw, just in case anyone thought it might be tolerable. It's just the music that would play while nothing is happening in game, which feels really dopey to hear during every "high energy" action scene
bubbadabad.bsky.social
They for real just said "leap of faith" (and nothing else) as the first line in at least 5 minutes to let us know what happened. That doesn’t mean anything, man, misty let the moment sit instead of making sure we know is a game reference.
bubbadabad.bsky.social
So far this has summed up the first hour really well.
