Love this phrase: “Evidence-based democracy”
Totally agree with those choices, and would add Barbara Loden and Chloe Zhao (I’m particularly a fan of Nomadland). Funny though, as much as I read a lot of women novelists and essayists, my favorite films are dominated by men.
