No room for hate in my life, but I'm thinking of remodeling to add on room.
I need a stronger word than fuck for this regime.
Americans couldn't stand voting for the woman with an economics degree so they voted for the guy who thinks tariffs aren't passed on to Americans.

Trump knows nothing compared to people who are educated and employed to know such things, and knows less even than people who shop for groceries.

Maybe we should leave municipal policing to the municipal police and let national guard members go back to their regular lives.
Police caught the shooter who shot two National Guardsmen that West Virginia's governor sent to Washington, because the president said the police weren't doing a good enough job.

Such classic gaslighting it's an instructive moment. The question is not whether generic is better or worse, it's that a list with more expensive brand names is not the same as a list with cheaper generics. Perverting that truth into an attack on those calling it out is Manipulation 101.
Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. Then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

This is why the WalkAway campaign failed to produce a Red Wave with huge numbers of seats flipped to Republicans in the 2018 elections. I read WalkAway stories on an almost daily basis from my conservative friends in 2018. The stories looked real but were fake.

Thinking to the future: we need to be prepared for staffing costs to rise under universal healthcare.
The American healthcare system where your survival depends less on your doctor and more on a hedge fund’s quarterly targets.

This is just so wrong.
Private equity paywalling kids’ sports is peak late-stage capitalism: even your kid’s memories are just another monetizable asset.

If the median homebuyer is 56, they won't live long enough to pay off a 50 year mortgage.
Median homebuyer age is now 56. Turns out if you suppress wages and let investors hoard housing, people can’t afford… housing.

Retired and even active military members have been discussing the possibility of Trump giving illegal orders since before Trump was elected the first time. If it wasn't a problem then, it's still not a problem now.

If 5 of the 6 of them cannot be prosecuted for their free speech, how is there a case against the sixth?
Such a small, petty, insecure loser. The Trump admin didn’t trust this drunken fool anywhere near the Ukraine negotiations so they sent the Sec of the Army instead. So this clown needs to play more stupid games.

There was an exodus early in Trump 1. He's worse than even Republicans expected this time around.
PUNCHBOWL: “.. GOP members messaged us over the weekend saying that they, too, are considering retiring in the middle of the term. Here’s one particularly exercised senior House Republican:

The kind of courage we need and the representation we all deserve.

Stay safe, @captmarkkelly.bsky.social and @gabbygiffords.bsky.social.
A gunman tried to silence my wife in an extreme act of political violence.

Now, Trump has called for my execution because he didn’t like what I had to say.

Gabby and I know, when others try to silence you, you must keep speaking out — and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

Saying the quiet part out loud, that Trump is a totalitarian who has claimed power from the courts and media.

Dems were protesting for healthcare. How can Republicans say that's not true if they couldn't be bothered to try to solve the healthcare problem?
Bessent: "Ezra Klein took the mask off. He said, 'This wasn't about healthcare. This was about stopping totalitarianism.' Democrats haven't been able to stop President Trump in the courts, they haven't been able to stop him in the media. So they had to harm the American people."

Putin is playing Trump for an absolute fool, getting Trump to deliver his surrender demands to Ukraine as if they're his own. Complete diplomatic cluster fuck and the US looks like idiots.
So the US was aware that the world thought the document was US endorsed, yet waited until now to clarify that it wasn't?

How could the US have communicated to Ukraine that they had to accept the proposal or lose US support without clarifying that the Russian proposal wasn't actually their proposal?

They're going to blame deceased Q4 and holiday spending on the shutdown and not on rising unemployment and rising inflation due to tariffs. Skyrocketing healthcare costs haven't even hit yet.
Hassett: "The only thing is that we're gonna see a lot of whining from left-wing critics of the president about the fourth quarter, because our estimate is the shutdown cost more than we expected at the beginning...we think the economic effect might be to cut economic growth about in half in the Q4"

Thank you, @captmarkkelly.bsky.social, for protecting Americans by standing up to this bully. You represent us well.
Mark Kelly: "The message he sent a couple days ago was he declared that loyalty to the Constitution is now punishable by death. Those are serious words coming from the president. He's trying to intimidate us. But I'm not going to be intimidated."

This is victim blaming.

If passengers wear uncomfortable clothing, they'll be even crankier. But will uncomfortable clothing keep everything running on time and prevent flight crews from timing out?

If you want more complacent passengers, put a Xanax salt lick at the airport gates.
Duffy: "Trump talks about the golden age of transportation. But the golden age in transportation truly begins with you ... People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly ... so we want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season: Help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

He rescinded funding for universities because they allegedly allowed antisemitic speech but the coast guard now allows swastikas?

And to allow a noose is to allow threats of deadly physical violence.
The Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas and nooses as hate symbols.

This action, coupled with the President's call to hang Democratic members of Congress - both in the past few hrs - are more than "potentially divisive."

They are vile, unconscionable, and dangerous.

Astute political analysis:🧵
1. On Tuesday, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill to force the release of the Epstein files, 427-1. Even before it arrived at the Senate, it was passed by unanimous consent. Last night, the president signed it.

Donald Trump caved, but this isn't not over.

Here are some more thoughts.
