maybe you could mention that kids shows are made BY adults, so there’s parts of some of them that are relatable for other adults too? :o

every adult was a kid who watched cartoons once, and many shows are by artists/writers who grew up to make a show they woulda wanted to see when they were a kid

after having marvel fatigue from the mcu and hero shooter fatigue from the overwatch dumpster fire, i was really skeptical about marvel rivals and now its my most played game on steam

i really love how much all the characters talk to each other and have their idiosyncrasies shine through

Oh yeah there's loads of artifact stuff going on in dimir in both sets, and EoE in particular has grixis robots out the wazoo

Both sets had landfall archetypes in temur colors and it's been really fun! Orzhov aristocrats got plenty of love in both sets too, which I'm a sucker for

i reported a ebay listing of a fake pokemon card for $45 from a burner account as counterfeit (the card isnt textured in the photo like it should be, and the seller has 0 rating with this as their only listing)

and ebay's response was this
what is even the point lol

a reply from ebay in response to a listing of a fake pokemon card being reported as a counterfeit. it says: "We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence."

oh is THAT why i've seen some game maker projects set a variable named "m" to 1 and then multiply their movement speed variables by it

i thought it was for bullet-time effects or something delta time adjacent. itd make sense if it's a futureproofing thing for if the art assets get rescaled

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

theres no reason that card needed a "if you start your turn with 10 treasures you win" clause, it ruins the fun of treasures. i know its from the first set that had them, but the exciting part is cracking them for a big spell!

at least give me the pleasure of winning with an X cost nuke

Revel in Riches being the only "get a treasure when an opponent's creature dies" effect but having "you win when you have 10 treasures"

also i wanna build around the Betor, Kin to All, but the final reward goes from "i get cards and untap my guys" to "you spontaneously combust and die"

one of my mtg pet peeves are those cards that are like:
"Whenever you [do the thing], get [unique reward for that thing]" and then right at the end they tack on "when you [do the thing an arbitrary number of times], set each opponent's life to 0"

with no alternative that DOESNT set off ppls alarms

yeah its frustrating since it feels like its engineered infighting within the class war to pull the wool over our eyes while the rich keep getting richer, and to discredit ppl for being "unpatriotic" when they point at the successes of other places in the world as a precedent to learn from

i wish more ppl in political debate spaces would point out that being unhappy with america ISN'T inherently anti-american

the waters get muddied so much by patriotism causing knee-jerk bad faith/othering/ad hominem, when the thing they have IN COMMON is wanting the country they live in to be better

imo it depends on gestural flow and contextual contrast. the difference between a "friendly" circle and an "uncanny" one depends on how inorganic it looks compared to other characters. the main difference between Stubborn Square "Carl from Up" Oppressive Square "Spiderverse Kingpin" is scale, etc

yeah! those shapes CAN be those things, but i agree it's reductive! shape language has lots of "homophones" imo... a circle's perfection can feel artificial or alien, a square's sheer surface area can feel oppressive and imposing, the directional nature of triangles can convey speed or attentiveness

my mtg commander hot take/deckbuilding sin is: 1 mana basic land search spells with a second "choose one" option (like Traverse the Ulvenwald/Thirsting Roots/Dig Up) can be included in your land slots as a modal double-faced tapland

Khalni Ambush is just instant speed Bushwhack for 2 more mana 🤷
