This is a great article! Especially for collage students who are approaching finals week. When I am stressed and studying I tend to revert to salty snacks that aren't very nutritious. However, I will look back at this article! Thanks!

During finals I eat quicker meals. For breakfast a quick meal I do, that is nutritious, is a yogurt cup with fruit. I can eat this on the go and it's delicious! I always look at the back of the yogurt cups to make sure that it has the least amount of ingredients! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I enjoyed reading this article. Many loved ones I know have high cholesterol. This article is important because many people dealing with high cholesterol don't know the foods they should and shouldn't be eating. Thanks!

Tom talks about how embarrassed he felt about his weight. He mentioned how a doctor made him feel ashamed and he didn't go to the doctors for awhile after that. As healthcare workers we shouldn't judge any of our patients. We should have empathy and be a helpful resource. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I didn't know that childhood obesity is directly linked to poverty. Fat shaming is horrible and leads to depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behavior. It is bullying. We should be supporting people and properly educating on nutrition instead of tearing them down. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

The barrier I can relate to is how much cheaper unhealthy food is compared to healthy food. As a college student who isn't working I don't have the money to buy healthy groceries all the time. I am guilty of sometimes buying the cheaper/less healthy quick food option! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I love chia seeds! I love to add them to my smoothies and yogurt. I did know that chia seeds have high fiber that helps with digestive health. This article is very helpful and reassuring because I didn't know the multiple other benefits chia seeds have. Thanks! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I take a women's multi vitamin. I learned from the lecture that it can be used to help address nutritional gaps and that people will just take it to take it. However, they are expensive and do they really help? There are potential risks and a lack of strong evidence. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

The popular press article I found is a NY Times article about how dinner should be your smallest meal. It was very insightful, easy to understand, and short. It was written by Alice Callahan who has a Ph.D in nutrition. It also has supporting info from doctors! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Hi! Wow I never new this about mangos that's very interesting! I've never really been a mango eater, however, I should add them to my diet. Learning that it could help with the risks of diabetes is good information as I have a relative who has diabetes! Thanks! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

The fad diet I selected is the cabbage soup diet. It involves eating mostly cabbage soup and other limited foods for a week. Many people criticize this diet because the weight loss is mostly water not fat and it's not a long term weight loss option! 🍲 #beh253 @beh353.bsky.social

For breakfast I love eating yogurt bowls and cereal. To make these two meals more nutrient dense I always will add a variety of fruit. I will also add chia seeds, hemp hearts, granola and peanut butter to my yogurt! These add fiber, vitamins, and more to my meals. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I agree! In our lecture this week in nutrition we were introduced to the difference between whole grains and refined grains. Refined grains loose nutrients that whole grains have. Because they don't contain bran or germ only the starchy endosperm. Thanks!
What is a #WholeGrain? Next time your kids crave a snack, reach for whole grains like oats, brown rice, or quinoa! Packed with bran, germ, & endosperm. Nutritious & delicious, they help reduce risks of heart disease & diabetes. #KidsEatRight #EatRight www.eatright.org/food/food-gr...

Whole grains are nutrient dense with lots of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It is important to know the difference between whole grain and refined grains. Refined grains have lots of the nutrients removed. We can keep these grains in our diets however with moderation! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
