2025 was a year of historic resilience.

Despite unprecedented challenges, we faught fearlessly to win Know-Your-Rights protections, launched strikes across the state, released multiple reports exposing industry greed, moved legislation, and defended our communities.

In 2026: We won't back down.

"This isn’t just our fight, this is for every other fast food worker who might be going through the same abuse and feel stuck. Every worker deserves to know their rights and know they are not alone." striking Taco Bell worker

Thank you @legalaidatwork.bsky.social for your solidarity! 💜

We’re often terrified to go to work, the bosses, like many in the industry, want us to feel worthless and helpless.

We won’t tolerate this abuse and violence.

We demand Taco Bell take steps to protect workers from violence and abuse.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
We've tried filing complaints about the abuse with no change, and marched on the boss last week, video below; instead of fixing the problems, bosses have retaliated against us with more abuse, demotions, and cutting one of members' hours from 40 hours per week down to just 9.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
Rats and roaches pose major food safety issues in the kitchen and lobby, but health issues don't stop there, our location has served rotten or undercooked food to customers.

Taco Bell's disrespect starts with their workers, but customers are at risk as well.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
In addition, there was one instance when the boss punched a wall next to one of us so hard that his knuckles started bleeding!

One of our hands was burned with hot oil as our boss yanked a tray out of our hand, causing the hot oil to splash and burn.

We shouldn't be scared to go to work.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
The boss takes out his anger with ongoing verbal racist threats and abuse - nearly every shift cursing at and calling several workers “stupid, and “f’ing Mexicans”; and making racist statements when he sees Latino customers who do not speak English.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
Taco Bell workers in El Dorado Hills, CA are ON STRIKE today against, racism, physical violence, as well as verbal and sexual harassment.

It goes beyond worker abuse: there are rats and roaches in the kitchen and lobby.

The situation at the store has become a nightmare.

We won't allow it 🧵

Don't think ICE is a worker issue? This asylum-seeking, gig driver with no criminal record was held without reason for 5 weeks. He was forced to abandon his car after being shackled by masked ICE agents.

We won’t live in fear.

We’ll keep organizing, and winning, just as we have for over a decade.
BREAKING: Becoming the first county in the nation to move forward, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors UNANIMOUSLY PASSES referral for a study of independent Know-Your-Rights training for fast food workers.
February 7, 2026 at 4:00 AM
This all comes while the industry is lobbying AGAINST Know-Your-Rights training.

While Californians create mutual aid networks and small businesses embrace the movements being created to protect our neighbors, McDonald’s wants to keep us in the dark and in fear.
February 7, 2026 at 4:00 AM
Even more, the vent over the grill has been broken for months, exposing workers to the hazard of smoke.

Workers have been organizing at this location since the start of the pandemic, and while short term fixes are made, the company’s greed continues to shine through.
February 7, 2026 at 4:00 AM
This location is keeping both workers and customers in danger.

Under CA law, employers may be subject to penalties for providing voluntary consent to ICE or DHS agents to enter non-public areas of the store without a signed judicial warrant.

It’s clear McD's doesn’t practice California values.
February 7, 2026 at 4:00 AM
McDonald’s has the legal right to deny ICE/CBP agents entry to private areas of the store if they don’t present a warrant signed by a federal judge, and small businesses across the country have put up signs, as well as trained their staff to enforce that right.
February 7, 2026 at 4:00 AM
Tonight San Jose McDonald’s workers are ON STRIKE after management told workers McDonald’s WILL NOT do anything to prevent ICE from entering the store, and that if ICE enters the store, *workers should run out of the store to their cars*

Thank you to community allies for joining tonight’s caravan 🧵

It’s already been established that fair scheduling helps prevent high employee turnover, which is why fast food workers need fair scheduling too!

Less turnover means less time on the clock spent training new workers.

It is absurd that Starbucks is still allowing ICE agents into stores.

Other businesses have updated their guidance to protect workers - why hasn’t Starbucks?
