By me this week - the happiest thing I've got to report of late, with a glorious trip over the summer to Montreal

It’s funny, it’s one of those beautiful films I saw in uni ages ago and just assumed I’d watch it again, but never did. Listening to the (mostly) Aimee Mann-helmed soundtrack recently hiking through the Kootenays, I’m committed to seeing it this weekend, for sure…

I confused him for Nathaniel in Ward 8, guess I'm facial feature blind. Nothing beats that 'stache

Ha… too each his own. I love em because they make it easy to drop a kids’ backpack inside

I wish this was limited to UA, but that being said, I've had good luck finding panniers that have adjustable connectors, like the Specialized unit. Requires a screwdriver, but once you're set up, you're gold www.ridleys.com/product/spec...

Ease of maintenance is key… tried the fairy light spoke setup and that’s just asking for trouble, though it does look nifty

Pretty bright, too… kids like the fun light patterns when you get multiple on there

“In London cyclists now outnumber cars in the City by 2 to 1. Paris, where they now outnumber motorists across the whole city, is catching up with Europe’s traditional bike capitals, Amsterdam & Copenhagen…In Copenhagen, bikes account for almost half of commuter trips to work/school.” @economist.com

Ok #yycbike and general #cargobike friends who ride in cold, dark climates. What are you using for fun/festive lights. I had a luminoodle that I loved, but the USB connection is trash & it no longer works. Do I just go back to cheapie fairy lights? Tell me what you're using on your bikes!

Zohran Mamdani hops on a Citi Bike and a woman heckles him, shouting “communist!” He responds, “That’s cyclist”

Aside from the east side racks/smoking area at Chinook Mall, agreed 😜

Every time I worry Google might know too much about me I see this ad pre-empting a YouTube ad and think: they have no idea what interests me 😂 #yycbike

Agreed... I think the branding element has kinda lost its lustre for the LPSS, I guess it happens when you have 3 name changes in the span of a decade. I've moved on recently, but it certainly seemed like they were keen on more, not less naming rights, having found some law firm to sponsor the track

I grew up in Toronto when they opened SkyDome… still call it SkyDome, not some cheesy Rogers whatever. It’ll forever be known as the Y for me.

Wasn’t super fast, I assumed dude was letting me pass but nope, he was in his own little headspace 🙃

all I think of is a Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel 🫠

And yes, that makes 2 sizeable closures on 12 Ave: the one @tinybeaches.bsky.social noticed by the Beltline Safeway and a brand new one for a demolition in the NW corner of 12 Ave & 1 St SE.

Silver linings: the closure on 12 Ave between 3 St and Olympic Way SE appears to be clearing out.
calgaryk.bsky.social
Shouldn’t really come as a surprise, seeing as the city treats the cycle tracks mostly with indifference. No detours, just dismount and walk…

Just another day on the 12 Ave cycle tracks #yycbike
