Nice. Maybe we should have a “Prof For A Day” section on the CMC blog?

If you like non-significant findings, you will LOVE our latest order processing paper!

We tested whether presenting consecutive & non-consecutive sequences separately improves order verification performance & found ✨no effect whatsoever✨.

If the sibling squabbles and teenage grumpiness are anything to go by then this term has definitely gone on for too long. I feel for the teachers for the rest of this week!

Ok so I’ve failed with my paper reading advent calendar most of this week. Will get back on it next week. 🎄

This term I have been overwhelmed by admin, management and meetings. It has sucked all the joy out of my job. In an attempt to improve things I’m doing a paper reading advent calendar. I’ll read and share one paper a day* from now until Christmas. See ⬇️

Although as a response to Reviewer 2 might also be appropriate!
camillakgilmore.bsky.social
🤣 more in the context of how over-the-top “we thank the reviewer for this extremely helpful comment” can come across if over-used.

Just reflecting on my use of the phrase “taking the piss” during this session. Not sure how that lands internationally?!

Schiller et al found middle school students have explicit knowledge that n/n = 1 but lack flexible understanding. Perform poorer on fraction num line & arithmetic tasks involving n/n than 1. Lack of examples in textbooks may contribute. Wonder if cross cultural differences in this?
