- teen vaping is epidemic
- most vapers are teens

According to the CDC National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), here are the most commonly used smoking cessation interventions.

The "effectiveness" of an intervention depends on (a) "efficacy" and (b) "popularity" (use). If something is efficacious, but that no one uses it, it is not "effective."

I graph publicly available CDC survey findings... because they don't. e.g., Two massive changes:

Q: Why does the CDC Office on Smoking & Health NOT want the public to know what is actually happening? Would good news jeopardize their funding?

New Zealand is #quittingsmoking twice as fast as its neighbour Australia. Why? #tobaccoharmreduction policies that make sense. Unlike NZ, Australia is seeing a black market boom & unregulated products with no age gating. #canada should take note .

#tobaccoharmreduction plays an important role in helping smokers quit smoking, and denying consumers access to these products only creates barriers to lowering rates of cigarette smoking.

In 2022 an estimated 2.9 million US adults had stopped smoking in the past year, a new study finds. Of these, an outright majority (53.9%) used safer nicotine products to do so, and 40.8% used vapes (26% using vapes exclusively).

To achieve Canada’s goal of a smoke-free country, we must study the models of countries who have been successful in attaining low rates of cigarette smoking, and Sweden and New Zealand are great examples in contrast to Australia’s failing model.
