I like to make long audio jokes for very very small audiences. I wore a washcloth on my head as a child.

You go to a restaurant. The food is not only worse than it used to be, but it costs more. You can eat standing, but a stool is $60. The waitstaff is still paid the same crappy wage, but the owner makes 1000x what she makes and she is forced to offer you a credit card that gives bonus meals.

Maybe a hot take, but the flight attendant who makes $30k a year should not have to give a speech on a delayed, water-only, $60 a bag flight to ask you to get a credit card so that it can benefit the CEO who made $31 million this year.

I'm trying to go to bed but I'm ALSO trying not to make a video where I play three competing Michael Caines where one is doing Ozymandias, the other the prologue to Henry V, and the third Kiss from a Rose (on the bloody GRAVE)

I never understood as a kid why watching the movie M*A*S*H felt like cool water on my brain. Or getting a multiball. Or sleeping in a room with 30 people talking.
Robert Altman rewards the scattered, fearful, hyperfocused mind and coyote ears. Oh how I love him. Who can listen to just one thing

This isn't just a unique thing, a history podcast to accompany a game's release, it is AMAZING.
I would listen to this even if I'd never heard of the game. It's stunning.

This was good for me because I got a LOT of 1776 outta my system.
"He" has done bad things.
Twenty seven bad things.
How bad were they?
They were so bad that they justified severing all ties with his country. And now, the airing of the grievances. #sschat

Look I don't want to be forward or anything but would you be cool if we took things a little further?
I was thinking maybe like 'A Firm League of Friendship' or something I don't know

Since making this episode I bought two books, stopped using irony when talking about politics, and then sat at the kitchen table for an hour trying to decide how to refer to "climate change" without using an expression that was tested in focus groups like a damn happy meal toy. Jen is a gift.
I got the chance to chat with the awesome @capodice.bsky.social about frame wars for Civics 101 on NHPR. This is such a great show, if you don't already listen--you should! www.npr.org/podcasts/512...

Recovering from jetlag I woke up on the couch in NH having no idea who I was or when I was, *subsumed* with a dream about The 7th Guest.
I was at a dinner party, I bungled all the food, and was impersonating the magician saying, "can you teach me REAL magic?? Can you SHOW ME!"
Where are they now.

I tell this story too often, but my first month (Sep 2011) in NYC was a rough old dog. I wasn't sure if I could make rent, I went to a bunch of terrible auditions, I was cadging quarters from my roommate's couch for American Spirits and eating one bagel a day. Roomie invited me to a party.

Everyone, say what you want about ol' Deano on his birthday, but never forget we were once a country that had people like Orson Welles on comedy night shows like Dean's to talk about Shakespeare, how history repeats itself, and old-age makeup.

32 years ago today was opening night of Henry V at Wellington High. My first real play, just a handful of lines in my American accent. What people they were.
Wouldn't see any of them again, until this week.
Each cast is a kind of family and it never ever weakens or fades.

You can have a rough day where you stare at the feed and pull your temples back and go 'aaaagh!' but I tell ya, a half-bottle of chianti and reading your kid the Grimm's tale where the tailor kills "seven with one blow" for the first time? To hoots of delight??
Twelve hours of reprieve.
