I just read Birnam Wood, by Eleanor Catton. I wasn't sure I would like it, but it was a real page turner! Highly recommend.
Photo of the cover of the novel Birnam Wood, by Eleanor Catton, Booker Prize-winning author of The Luminaries. The cover is a greenish grey photo of a wooded area and sky, taken from a hilltop. It has the effect of being smoky or foggy. The novel's title has a red X through it. The cover indicates that the novel was longlisted for the Carol Shields prize for fiction and was a ScotiaBank Giller prize finalist. A quote from Stephen King says Birnam Wood is terrific. As a multilayer, character-driven thriller, it's as good as it gets.
