Grind coal and coal into a fine powder until the dough is black as Gordon's heart. Bake at 200° (F or C, doesn't matter) for 12 hours while muttering 'bother these buns' under your breath

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

Ooooohhh we got the makings of an Eryland original finally!!! 👀
The GCER F1 Class
Built in 1879 and designed by fictional Scottish engineer, Sir Francis Marsden, she's the No. 3 engine of the railway. She's one of the passenger engines that run the Ayrith Branch Line.
Finally is a remake of Joe’s Shotton Steelworks shunter used in Cliffside Railway, probably my favorite engine from that game. I initially just wanted to give it accurate curved cab windows and hazard stripes, but ended up completely remaking the model instead.
Next are my models based on the Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills Tramway, their Andrew Barclay “Shane” and an engine shed based on their own. Shane was my first experience making lining using Adobe Illustrator and I’m very pleased with it. County Donegal railcar by Joelego3.
I forgot to make posts of my recent stud models until now🤪

First of these i want to share is my module “Cei Fach” (Little Quay) for Joelego3’s recent modular railway competition. A small transshipment dock serves a disused canal with a Kerr Stuart Wren shedded nearby for bringing the odd wagon.

The Cranky Crane prop is the size of a small shed, and has been stolen from this year's #CraneCon by me!
As soon as I buy a big enough knife, I will spread it on toast for tea.

Going into December soon. Not sure if I'll have enough time to do any winter themed art, what with work etc, but here's a digital painting from a few years ago I'm still quite fond of. Ashington Colliery in the50s/60s.

It’s Thanksgiving Day in America today.

It’s also our first Throwback Thursday post here on Bluesky as we’re not running trains at the moment.

Here we have some images of locomotives that aren’t with us anymore.

Quarry Hunslet 'Jonathan' formerly named 'Bernstein' in the Dinorwic slate quarry 'Trixie' built by Alan Keef which was being tested at our railway for a short period 'Helen Kathryn' a powerful locomotive that was deemed too heavy for the Bala Lake Railway

After watching Terrier55Stepney‘s beautiful Ivo Hugh videos (go check em out!!) I realize that British Thomas fans seem to most understand how to make a railway feel interconnected with the people and towns around it. 🧵
I recently started getting into gerry anderson shows theres full episodes on youtube for thunderbirds and stingray

The Pillars of Creation captured by the James Webb Space Telescope
The Pillars of Creation are set off in a kaleidoscope of color in NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope’s near-infrared-light view. The pillars look like arches and spires rising out of a desert landscape, but are filled with semi-transparent gas and dust, and ever changing. This is a region where young stars are forming – or have barely burst from their dusty cocoons as they continue to form.

Newly formed stars are the scene-stealers in this Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) image. These are the bright red orbs that sometimes appear with eight diffraction spikes. When knots with sufficient mass form within the pillars, they begin to collapse under their own gravity, slowly heat up, and eventually begin shining brightly.
