Very much in a ‘burn down the Democratic Party and replace it with a progressive party’ mood. Annoyingly there’s no way to practically do that in our system without conceding the nation to fascism, so we need to stage a total takeover from within somehow.

Absolutely this. I’m in water the tree camp.
So like, is the divide in the Democratic Party now between the “can we please just pretend things are normal ASAP” faction and the “we will not rest until we refresh the tree of liberty with the blood of the tyrants” faction
And Dem leadership is in the first while the electorate is in the second

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Congress should not get paid during a government shutdown. What the hell. No motivation for them to negotiate if one party (fucking fascist GOP) just wants to destroy the government. What are we even doing?

Glad we now have a state law limiting design review, but Seattle and other cities are still trying to make it work. There is nothing good about DR. At all.
New working paper studying project permitting in Seattle estimates that design review as part of the development process increased review time by 4 to 5 months. Author's model estimates that design review was associated with a 3% decline in the number of units permitted.

I have to say I wish the electorate had an attention span longer than a goldfish and so had not needed to try fascism again before remembering they didn't like it.
