It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.
It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Just evidence how science is political: who gets to conduct it, who has to wait for it, who gets paid for it, is all going to fall along lines of power. Politics is just power with colour coding.
As someone who does health research as a job, I honestly have not seen anything about this study that is either redeeming or ethical. The findings will not progress a scientific understanding of…anything really

Also at the end of the 24 month study, after 12 or 24 months on blockers, the young people have to go back to MDT review panel at the end of the study and every year for renewed approval of continuation of blockers. There's a serious threat of withdrawal of blockers hanging over them for years.
puberty blockers for trans kids with no prospect of moving to HRT after is like dangling somebody over an active volcano and going "what don't you feel better already? you're not even falling yet!"
