I finally figured out a way to prevent myself from spending money: reading.
Every time I have the urge to spend money, I instead pick up a book and read.

A lot of the abandoned projects in my files are books I'd happily read. But I don't necessarily want to invest months writing and editing them. I don't want to spend hours thinking about them every day. To write a good novel, you need to be willing to read it a gazillion times.

A lot of the abandoned projects in my files are books I'd happily read. But I don't necessarily want to invest months writing and editing them. I don't want to spend hours thinking about them every day. To write a good novel, you need to be willing to read it a gazillion times.

Oh em gee, in 2025 my PCP & same day clinic copays were $0. Now I have to pay $35 just to see a doctor or PA. Oh and urgent care visits used to be $45, now they're $75. ER visits were $90, now they're $125... It all fucking adds up... None of it helps me. I'm feeling anxious.
