It's almost that time of the year for seymour to think about blowing up the Ministry for Pacific Peoples again and/or animals dying from the fright or injuries that fireworks have caused.

It's a faceblab profile picture from a few months ago and the mixcloud profile appeared a few weeks ago.
I just go there to listen to music. I didn't tealise there was an interaction option

Re the Troupe Lawn at Otari Wilton Park. There is a very large eel that hangs out near the bridge. She is so huge and majestic that I thought she was ready to migrate this year. I adore her and feel very protective of her. But people harass her. Twice last week

Hey, um. Gen Xers and above, didn't you used to pick blackberries for free as a kid in random places in your neighbourhood like in the swampy area at the back of the horse paddocks or something?

Now days this fruiting weed is $10 a punnet.

Patifu!
Tofu "pate"
Apparently $3.20 from New World Thorndon.

Not bad at all. Could easily demolish the lot at 5pm munchies time.

Mōrena.

Today is the 15th anniversary of the Pike River Mine disaster.

The truth was told, laws were changed, the agency Worksafe was created but there has been no justice and now those laws are being dismantled.

Good article by Rebecca McFie in last week's Listener.

Mōrena. For those of you interested in the devastating impact of fireworks on the animal world and in our communities in general you may already know that yesterday's Select Committee in response to latest round of petitions was the best one yet, and I've been involved in two already
We can change.

After two years on Bluesky I'm logging out. I'm not deactivating just yet, so if you want me to send you a "we care no fireworks here" poster (see pinned post) d.m me. If I don't reply, contact me via messenger at my faceblab, which is the same handle as above.
Bless up comrades.

The select committee report on the Regulatory Standards Bill is in.
📝166,000 submissions.
❌98.7% opposed.
Yet National are going to continue supporting it.
🗣New Zealand could not have been louder, but Luxon still isn’t listening.

Can not stress enough how important it is for all supporters of the three opposition parties to work together in a unified way to push the C.o.C. out in 2026. Less fighting, more kotahitanga.

Regarding the multiple planned strikes by public sector workers on 23rd October.

Are the public welcome to attend these rallies or would the various unions involved prefer the rallies to be worker only?

Non evidence based policy leads to mind blowing wastage of public money and zero beneficial outcomes.
National/ACT Coalition government spends over $100,000 a year on a road cone hotline that increasingly hardly anyone uses - with each call leading to less than one road cone removed.

And they took this funding from real worksafe work

WTAF #nzpol #kiwi
After 5 months of the heralded ‘tipline’, just 204 road cones are confirmed gone
In Whanganui, information from the Government’s own Road Cone Tipline had actually led to more cones being put out than taken away. In Wellington, 110 complaints resulted in just two cones being remov...

I gotta say, I woke up today feeling fabulously free. Even teeing up a hot pot lunch with friends later felt like a huge win. Something I haven’t been able to do in a long time. 💕

Here's a very handy break down of what went down in Wellington, by @joelmacmanus.bsky.social which includes info regarding our Maori ward, Te Whanganui a Tara and the success for @ponekematt.bsky.social
This was a great win for th capital this weekend and it didn't happen by accident. ❤️Wellington

I'm feeling happy to be a Wellingtonian today. It's a good day.
We galvanised to retain our Maori ward and put a progressive bloc in at WCC. We're back and we're ready to kick this Govt out in 2026.
October 12, 2025 at 1:12 AM
Congratulations on your win for Te Whanganui a Tara @ponekematt.bsky.social and well done to our region on voting to retain Maori wards.
All the very best to you for the next three years.

Does anyone want to see what awful men exist outside of Bluesky? I have many examples, but this one, for once, isn't an unprovoked insult directly aimed at me. This is from an Andrew Little campaign page. I did reply however.

Jeepers Wellington, giddy up! Only 27.52% have voted. You've only got two days left.

With two days to go, only 27.52% have voted in WCC elections
Latest voting figures for Wellington show that 44,397 people have voted so far, representing 27.52 per cent of eligible voters. This compares with 24.

Coincidence. Just heard back from the community cop. Trial date was adjourned yet again. We are possibly looking at next year now but no new date has been set. This is getting into 24 months after the initial arrest territory.

You know what. A guy harassed me on line and and attempted to burn our place down. Luckily, he failed badly and got charged with attempted arson.
Why? Because he didn't like me campaigning for a fireworks free NZ.
Peters will receive justice. I'm still waiting.

Told ya! They DO talk. Up to all of us, no matter what party we support in opposition, to be cooperative, express unity and ultimately, win. We are up against HUGE money, but we have the numbers.
"Under MMP, Labour’s fortunes will inevitably be tied to the Green Party, and to Te Pāti Māori. Behind the scenes, senior party staffers are shaping up conversations about what governance could look like. The three parties’ chiefs of staff share a Signal group chat".
