The absolute worst thing about being a white millennial woman is knowing people claim I did all this bullshit when I did no such thing.
I was 10-11 when the first book came out and thought it was too young for me 🤷♀️ By that age, I preferred reading Dracula, Watership Down and War of the Worlds.

Changed my brain chemistry a bit when someone put into words that the reason why we're accused of being "paid shills" (from something innocuous like enjoying a TV show or film, right up to serious stuff - standing up for human rights) is because the people making the accusations are... being paid.

I know Tolkien definitely had a much grander idea for how penance would look if Sauron had actually faced the Valar in the First Age, but because it's MY brain in my head and I'm just Arda shitposting in 2026...

Any time I see the “I only read completed works” discourse I think of the fact that I personally have never/rarely experienced this mythical reader who shows up and binge-reads the entire thing, so imo a lot of people aren’t reading complete works OR WIPs anymore.

Nothing radicalised me more than moving to Scotland when it comes to seeing North-South divide maps that treat Scotland as a homogeneous blob.
There’s a North-South divide here too, lads.

I’ve asked a colleague a question three times now and they’ve responded to me/others without answering the question.
By this point I feel like pointing out that not admitting you don’t want to do it and leaving me hanging is far ruder than saying you won’t do it. 🙄

I know I'm one to talk because the national anthem (of the UK) is a completely shitty dirge and nobody sounds genuinely enthusiastic singing it, but I felt like even by the very cheesy US standards the reaction to the anthem before this playoff wasn't as big as I've heard it in the past. Idk.

It's so weird to be in a country that (rightly) banned guns after one school shooting and suddenly find yourself this weekend, reading the lying spew coming from certain federal institutions, and I'm thinking, "hey wait a minute... do you guys like the 2A or not?" 😵💫

- Cut back "dead" chilli plant in hope it might be revived.
- Entire stem pulls out of soil, upper plant clearly very dead.
- Put water in the tray just to be sure it's definitely dead.
- The water disappears instantly because the roots are obviously still alive.
Wtf do you WANT from me, plant?
