No choice but to stan a fanbase who has been through it for years/decades, and can't be hurt by any other team's fans trying the "you're shite" patter - because there's definitely memes created by actual fans of the team saying the same thing.

It's not even a tone thing because - and I am NOT saying for a minute I believe it should be transactional because I too don't have time to read everything either - they never seem to check out any of your stuff or even reply, so then my brain starts turning over thinking I did something wrong.

Yeah I don’t think S1 or S2 are perfect but I’m tired of feeling like I need to pay the “I know Tolkien, honest!” toll by qualifying my love for the show by shitting on it or letting other people shit on it by allowing them a foot in the door via my legit criticism!

And it’s not just obvious dogwhistles either. I hate it now when I see a fan concede ground to the haters by saying stuff like “oh S2 was SO much better!” Cos I’m a bit: ok what was it about S1 you didn’t like? Because not all my theories on the answer are gonna make me trust that person is a fan…
