As we all enjoy the last few rays of summer sunshine, we are in awe of our new board by Anna Millais.

Featuring late summer blooms and Mary Oliver poetry, Anna's board is the perfect way to mark the changing season. Come and see it, tucked just off Richmond high street!

It kills me that there was a time when both the BBC and ITV would broadcast hours of original drama for children, every week, all year round, creating on-ramps for young actors, plus constant work for kid-oriented writers and directors, and that entire ecosystem has almost completely vanished.

"She remembered how the wind had blown cold fear all around her, and she felt again that the house was the only refuge she could find from something out here on the prairie which she did not understand."

With thanks to @suw.bsky.social for the recommendation.

Yes, I was fascinated to hear Megan Daley raise this idea in her podcast. She’s a teacher-librarian who is well versed in reading research. Thank you for writing such an engaging series that sparks the joy of reading at a crucial age 😊

It's great to have such a positive response.

Very interested by your comment about series fiction for this age group and the reassurance it offers for emerging readers. Thank you.
