Its no surprise that the same people who want charities be the social safety net are the same people who want charities to have "freedom of conscience" to decide who is and isn't worthy of charity.
"Progressive" - the belief that govt has a moral obligation to build, maintain, and steward public institutions for the common good, rather than burning them down in the name of "freedom" and profit.

Opinion: Albertans' well-being shouldn't be left to charities
We do not need to "restore" the role of charity in basic health care and education.

You know a thing that is very bad about this? This is the anti-trans playbook being played against women. Start with 'has the x movement failed the people it's supposed to help', then infantilize them, then make the case they can't be responsible for their own choices, then take their rights away

No dean in the history of academia has ever told a job applicant they were being blocked be side they were white because (a) that never actually happens and (b) if it did there would be a massive lawsuit.

But thank you, Naomi Wolf, for confirming that this is something the Crazies believe.
You’ll never guess who else experienced ‘racism’ on the job market despite their unimpeachable academic credentials.

I'm looking forward to the results of the Auditor General's report.

Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
These are not Canadian islands, but are a self-governing territorial overseas collectivity of France.
