NEW: Elections Calgary has denied a recount request in Ward 9.

Unofficial results show there is a margin of 267 votes between winner Harrison Clark and runner up Gar Gar.

Gar requested the preliminary recount today.

NEW: Elections Calgary confirms they will be conducting a recount in Ward 12 at 9am on Thursday.

According to unofficial results, Mike Jamieson won the race with a margin of 29 votes over Sarah Ferguson.

Ferguson’s campaign requested the recount today.
The Edmonton city council vote count is now complete. Here is the composition of the council by party:
Independent - 9
Better Edmonton - 3

It seems that the biggest error was Roger Kotch's vote going down 708 votes and Thu Parmar going up 613 votes from the initial count. It seems likely that Parmar's votes were accidentally counted/entered for Kotch.
For reference, this was the initial count:
NEW from Edmonton: After a recount for councillor in Ward sipiwiyiniwak, independent Thu Parmar has been elected by 627 votes.

Yesterday, Better Edmonton's Darrell Friesen had won the initial count by 6 votes.

Because of the teacher's strike, only non-public schools participated in the Student Vote.
While we are waiting for results in the Alberta municipal elections, here are the results of the CIVIX Student Vote for mayor in Calgary and Edmonton. Jeff Davison wins in Calgary and Andrew Knack wins in Edmonton.

One of the ridings where the Yukon Liberals failed to get a candidate is Klondike, an incumbent seat that was held by former Premier Sandy Silver.
