Alberta’s emissions performance credits, which can be used to comply with the industrial carbon pricing system, are now trading at just C$17 per tonne.

The frozen $95 per tonne headline price is largely irrelevant.

As a reminder, whether it be $95 or $110 per tonne, the “policy price” for industrial emissions is largely moot right now.

Emitters can pay for compliance using emissions offsets and performance credits, which are currently trading bilaterally for under $29 per tonne.

Note the UCP's meme 👇.

In this particular case, the government has broken commitments to preserve public healthcare.

More worrisome, they're keeping more promises than they made in their 2023 platform.

Using the voters list as a political weapon against a constituent feels like perfectly reasonable grounds for a recall to me.
Dale Nally's recall petitioner says he doesn't listen to constituents and cites his concerns over the notwithstanding clause.

Nally responds by saying the petitioner doesn't vote and works as a proxy for a group weaponizing the recall act and the petition has no merit.

I avoided commenting much on this story because I had a sense this person might be aggressively litigious. Despite being branded as a UCP star candidate her chances of actually winning in Calgary-Mountain View were probably very slim even in a blue wave year like 2019.
