Keep the faith
We need an Indy majority to be able to appeal to the international community for support for a UN sponsored referendum instead of UDI, to get the recognition we need to access the EU, whether EFTA or full membership

With the world being… gestures wildly at everything… one of the most important things we can still do is laugh - sometimes hysterically, sometimes just to stay sane.

So, with that in mind, I present to you:

People Who Make Me Laugh.

Let me know in the comments who rlse should be added.

Solar grew by 31% globally in the first half of 2025, while wind grew by nearly 8%.

Renewable energy is the future, providing safe, clean and cheap power - in sharp contrast to the volatility of fossil fuels.

In Scotland we must continue building on our success in this booming industry.
Renewables overtake coal as world's biggest source of electricity
Developing countries lead the historic clean energy charge but the US and EU rely more on fossil fuels than before, a think tank study shows.

It is embarassing not to see the BBC pulling up Reform leaders claiming that Nathan Gill was just some fan who got photos taken with Farage - he was an MEP for them & their leader in Wales while taking cash from Russia to act against the UK! Literally the very basics of your job to point this out

Well said. I've pointed out that the benefits Scots enjoy are paid for through taxes and aren't free but I've done that in a context.

I say this
a)to rebut claims that we are heavily subsidised by WM and
b) that Scots are willing to pay for what we need/want.

The ‘dismal record on public services’ not based on fact - simply repeating the constant message in Westminster

The myopic Anglo centric view of the Guardian is a huge disappointment for me. It’s not the paper it once was under Alan Rusbridger and pre Wikileaks. It uses its anti SNP rhetoric as a comfort blanket for its Anglo exceptionalism readership, and refuses compare NHS in context and accurately.

The Internal Market Act allows the uk government to overrule decisions by Scot Gov - this is one of the biggest problems that could be solved by independence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

1. Democracy and Representation

At the heart of the independence movement lies a simple democratic principle: decisions about Scotland should be made by the people who live in Scotland.

While the Scottish Parliament controls some domestic issues such as health and education, most key powers — foreign affairs, immigration, welfare, and the economy — remain in Westminster. This creates a democratic imbalance.
In recent years, this imbalance has been particularly visible.

In 2016, Scotland voted overwhelmingly to remain in the European Union, yet it was taken out of the EU against its will due to votes elsewhere. Independence would allow Scotland to speak with its own voice on the world stage and make choices aligned with the values and priorities of its people.
