So it's farewell Jimmy & Lauren. It will be of little consolation that this elimination is absolutely not deserved, I think the public got ot wrong to put you in the dance-off and then the judges saved the wrong couple. However what better way to go out than doing Prince justice out there. #Strictly

Neither of these even remotely deserve to be in the dance-off, but the public have spoken. It is icons week, and I personally would vote to save the couple who performed like the icon they were representing, and that was Jimmy & Lauren. #Strictly

Ok, dance-off prediction time, and this is possibly the hardest prediction EVER.

After a long period of mental calculations (there's a 4 way tie somewhere that I needed to break), my prediction is:

Balvinder & Julian eliminated against Jimmy & Lauren.

Cher-uh, I mean La Voix & Aljaz - Salsa

If I didn't have my glasses on I'd be fooled. That said, as much as the opening was fun, it wasn't dancing. When the dancing began, it felt slightly frenetic, possibly caused by the wrong foot that Shirley pointed out. Still in danger.

Jimmy & Lauren - American Smooth

Nice. The lift was spectacular, characterisation was excellent, frame in hold is still not perfect but a nice performance.

Amber & Nikita - Cha Cha Cha

I have to be honest, I'm disappointed at the lack of Ariana in that performance. As a Cha Cha Cha it was excellent, but I got absolutely ZERO characterisation I'm afraid.

Harry & Karen - Argentine Tango

I'm not sure why the producers hate him so much that they give him a Rumba and then an Argentine Tango but anyway. Nice to see some leg work from a male celeb in an AT. Some issues in hold and I didn't see Usher there. But overall great.

Balvinder & Julian - Quickstep

Will she avoid another dance-off?... Very sorry but no. I don't see it. Some transitions had gone too quick and she was waiting for the beat for the next move. Also the runs need to be smoother. She very much was country queen B though.

Vicky & Kai - Couple's Choice

I like a themed couple's choice when it's relevant to the couple. And my God that was ambitious. Loads of opportunities to go horribly wrong and out of sync. By the end I was willing it to go well. And thank goodness it did.

George & Alexis - Jive

Character embodied in the first 5 seconds. I did see the mistake that Craig pointed out and it felt like it lacked a last bit of oomph to me, it was too planted in places, however the technical ability and showmanship were there in abundance.

There's something about smooth foxtrots when performed well that I can't resist. And now you're putting River Song in front of me doing that dressed as Dolly Parton. What are you doing to me Strictly? This was great.

Ellie & Vito - Salsa

Spice Girls is perfect for Ellie, which really helps her to embody the character in this. The energy of a Salsa was matched perfectly as well. Just a little smoother around the edges and it would've been excellent.

Karen & Carlos - Rumba

The Rumba is a very difficult dance and I think unfortunately she did struggle quite a lot with it. The character was there but the tension in the middle was VERY obvious.

Lewis & Katya - Quickstep

There was a spin that looked awkward and mistimed at the beginning. Also I feel that this needed more time in hold. But a fantastic start to icons week, and he makes an awesome Johnny Cash.

It's time for... Icons week on #Strictly ! Sadly 1 couple pulled out of the competition in midweek, wishing Stefan Dennis a swift recovery from his injury and commiserations to Dianne. Also, wishing Tess & Claudia all the best in their future endeavours and a great rest of the series. Let's go!

So it's farewell Chris & Nadiya. Certain technical improvements and certain abilities were shown, and we'll all remember the Thor routine last week. You also threw yourself into anything you were asked to do and that's all we can expect. #Strictly

I think both couples were worse this time around unfortunately. In terms of making a decision, it's content vs execution and I'm going to side with the couple that had the better content. For that reason I'd vote to save Balvinder & Julian. #Strictly

Ellie & Vito - Couple's Choice

Well. One of the things we know with Ellie is she'll always give the maximum amount of attack possible. She did that so much here she nearly fell over at one point. Brilliant, other than that almost-fall.

The leg movements need to be sharper overall. There were a few that felt more sweeping than pointed. The drama was there in abundance though.
