For a party that doesn't want big government in our lives, it's more than willing to let big corporations dictate how you should live.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Wow, literal regime change to steal their oil. At least we got theatrics on 2003. Colin Powell waving a little vial around... Now, there's no pretense. Just, we want it and we can take it.
Rep. Salazar on Venezuela: "We're about to go in ... we need to go in ... Venezuela for the American oil companies will be a field day"

That's what fascist do, they want to impose their way onto everything and everyone... Conform the way you think, act and even dress. And if you don't obey, they won't "behave".
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

Unless it rhymes with schmapple, the answer is bad.

Like, really bad.

I have a bad feeling about this.

A start-up wants to control global weather patterns by spraying aerosols in the atmosphere.

The Strange and Totally Real Plan to Blot Out the Sun and Reverse Global Warming
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat. The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

I'm sorry but Trump saying "you can say yes, I don't mind" to being called a fascist by Zohran is the funniest thing I've seen in years.

What kind of spell did Zohran use on Trump?!
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

When you start letting corporations lie for profit, you end up with society no longer knowing what's really going on.

Past is prologue.

In 1933, during the Great Depression, a group of wealthy businessmen tried to overthrow the US government and install a fascist dictator to protect their own interests.

And everything that led to it feels way too familiar right now.

This is not a history lesson, it’s a warning.

How many ways can @mark-carney.bsky.social let Canadians know that dealing with the climate crisis is not high on his priority list?

Smart & honest people know full well that ignoring problems do not make them go away.

It's just bad leadership.
The votes on the federal budget forced ministers to leave critical international climate negotiations a week early, right as negotiations are going down to the wire.

Canada is missing in action at COP30 and now is less able to even participate. An all around pathetic summit for Carney's gov.
Federal budget scramble leaves Canadian negotiators rudderless at UN climate summit
The federal budget made it through confidence votes unscathed at the cost of Canada sacrificing its ministerial presence at international climate negotiations in Brazil.
