The #Canadian entry didn't make the Oscars shortlist in the international film category. I've seen 6 of the 15 but not the #CanadianFilm. Canada got an animated short film nominee on the shortlist. Seen 4 of the documentaries, none Canadian.

#Slop gets the honour of the word of 2025. Applies in terms of #AI though not even a #pig could consume that kind of slop.

AI haters, this one's for you: Merriam-Webster's 2025 word of the year is 'slop' | CBC News
The word "slop" was first used to refer to soft mud in the 1700s, but has since evolved to mean of little value — especially when referring to online content of low quality that's made with artificial...

Those Who Make Revolution Halfway Only Dig Their Own Graves is a long enough title for a #CanadianFilm. 183 minutes is a lot. Fictional accounts based from protesters. An important film more than for entertainment. Seeing a protest on ground level.

Letterboxd is bringing us the video store, of sorts, with films that couldn't find distribution. Analog in Chicago is more like a video store next to a movie theatre.

Son of a Critch on Netflix was seemingly a great fit. Unfortunately, the window is going to be exactly 6 months. The CW isn't anxious to show Season 4. More questions than answers. #CanadianTV

If you saw Nouvelle Vague (on Netflix), did you see Breathless? Do you think it mattered if you did see the film. I saw Breathless, not lately, and liked having seen it while seeing Nouvelle Vague.

TFCA just gave Sophy Romvari's Blue Heron the year's Best First Feature prize, which is well-deserved, because it's actually the best first feature in several years, and probably next year, too

The White Fortress was good enough to make the TIFF Top 10 list for #CanadianFilm for 2021. Finding the film to review it was a lot harder. A nice coming of age story in post war Sarajevo. A lot of Canadian films don't look Canadian.

Chicago is a large city. You hear the snow measurements at O'Hare. Few people live near the airport. Most of the city doesn't live near the airports. So we can't find out how much snow we got. We had a lakefront airport but a previous mayor chopped it up in middle of the night.
